Fantastic LGBTQ+ owned and operated cafe. Had oatmilk cortados, sunrise mocktails, everyday eggsellence, and November rain. Everything was great. Also bought some fun swag.

Really amazing food, and service.
The ingredients are mostly made inhouse and the quality is beyond special. Highly recommend.

Very cool spot with fun design. The food and pastries all looked good but i can only comment about the coffee. Coffee itself was strong and flavorful but my one complaint and area of feedback would be for staff and service. Staff was very friendly but It took almost 15 minutes to get our ice coffees which were black and the other with just milk. I understand they were completing more complex orders (lattes, food) and going in order but simple orders like an ice coffee that just needs to be poured in a cup should be prioritized as it would be a difficult place to pop in and out of quickly.

Visited yesterday to meet a couple of friends. The four of us settled into two chaise lounges that were perpendicular to each other; it was one of the better options to sit for a group of four. The built-in banquette would have been another good option, but that space is reserved for knitting club 3-5PM on Sundays (neat idea!). I ordered the hibiscus spritz, which was great because it wasn’t sweet, but was refreshing on the hot afternoon when we visited. The staff were very helpful and kind. Small Format is definitely a great spot to spend an hour or two.

Lovely spot! Always happy to support a queer business, and was awesome to see employees still masking, which is rare these days. And my drink was delicious!

As the name suggests, the location is very small but the latte was top notch, as was the gluten free coffee cake.

This is my new go to place in PVD for coffee. It’s sooooo cute and queer. I bet the vibes are always awesome. Loved looking at all the art and stickers for sale. I got the not for vampires bagel and it was good but pretty greasy. I got a miso brown sugar latte iced

My best friend and I were on the hunt for a cute, dog-friendly coffee shop—and Small Format completely blew us away! Not only is the space charming and beautifully designed, but the food is next level.

We were both genuinely astonished by how good our breakfast sandwiches were. If you think I'm exaggerating, I'm absolutely not—this was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly made, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care.

To top it all off, both of the owners were there, cooking behind the counter, and they were absolutely adorable. Their warmth and attention to detail made the whole experience feel personal and special.

This place is a total gem, and I already can't wait to go back. Bravo to the team at Small Format—you’ve got something really special here!
