I've never actually had undrinkable cafe coffee before. This was my first. PH was so off, it literally burned my throat, topping off a very bland taste.

Set up here for a few hours of remote work and enjoyed a hot brown butter latte (incredible) and their veggie breakfast sandwich (also incredible). Great vibes all around!

this place is right nearby andt its below average. coffee sucks, food is okay and shitty service. if you want good quality coffee and pastries while you're in RI checkout Seven Stars bakery.

I’ve been here 3 times. I hate leaving bad reviews but this warrants it. The coffee is average/fair, vegan food is extremely limited and also fair. I came in for a quick cup to go. The counter order/ pickup situation is easily misunderstood, I’ve done it twice. They let you flounder for a while, for good measure…twice. So I made a suggestion about the signage (politely), just trying to be helpful, and the cashier was embarrassingly rude in return. “What are you stupid” type stuff. Rude service, meh coffee- take your money elsewhere, people.

Plus the music was good there.
The description prominently features that this restaurant is eco-friendly, however, other than the organic food choices and the ability to recycle, the food is served on single use parchment paper and my dine-in drinks were served in plastic cups. The food is definitely fresh and delicious and the pricing— being in the nice area that it is— is quite good; me and the person I was with were able to get both of our meals with a fresh pressed drink for about $15.

Would be a nice place if not for the human feces found on the sidewalk in multiple different directions.

We originally planned to go to the coffee shop next door, but because of the long line and limited time, we ended up here instead. Unfortunately, it was a mistake. We ordered two different sandwiches, and both were disappointing. You’d think it would be hard to mess up a simple egg and cheese sandwich, but somehow they managed—it wasn’t toasted properly, and the overall flavor was bland.
We also tried the brownie cake, which was dry, overly sweet, and tasted like it had been sitting around for weeks.
The only saving grace was the coffee and the friendly service, which is the sole reason I’m giving this place two stars instead of one.

P.S. For the love of god, please do something about the ventilation—the entire café reeks of fried bacon.

Love this coffee shop! Taro latte is to die for. Good wifi and always vibing, good spot to work if you're not on calls because it can get a tad loud. Love that there's outdoor options even if limited!

Small Point Café – Providence, RI

I don’t remember exactly when I first stumbled into Small Point Café over a decade ago, but as a coffee lover, it clearly made an impression! This spot has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a quick pick-me-up, catching up with a friend, or settling in with your laptop for a bit of work.

The coffee is solid—well-crafted, rich, and served with care. Pair it with one of their pastries and you’ve got a mini Providence moment worth savoring. The atmosphere is inviting, with plenty of seating, warm lighting, and that low-key neighborhood café energy that keeps you coming back.

Whether you’re exploring Providence or just looking for a dependable local coffee spot, Small Point Café is worth a visit.
