Had an issue with a previous order and the owner was happy to refund or remake the order, great service from the owner and they were very apologetic about the situation. Definitely coming back!

Lovely. Such good food and gorgeous atmosphere. We tried various foods and a cocktail and a Star beer - THE beer in Nigeria as we learned from our friendly neighbor at the bar. You will leave happy and full! And the food is very healthy, so you will feel good. A great addition to Westminster Street. We will definitely be back!!!

My friend ordered goat pepper soup and designer rice and paid extra for the spice level and I was disappointed and disgusted . This little bowl of soup is $19 on uber eats, and it’s disgusting, meet is hard and has no flavor, the designer stew also had no taste and compared to the other ones I’ve tried, it’s not the same. Everything was bad and as an African, I’m embarrassed. Don’t waste your money

I ordered takeout for lunch this afternoon, the food was really good! I got a chance to run into the restaurant and it is beautiful inside. The prices are on the higher end, but worth it.

It was a great experience at the restaurant. I got the opportunity to experience the grand opening and witness the ribbon-cutting. We got the chicken with the jollof rice and plantain. The beer could have been a bit colder, along with glass, but the food was filling. It was so good I didn’t want it to end. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The vibes were right and enjoyable. Looking to go back again soon!

Truly some of the best food and service I've had at any restaurant in Providence! Our server, Melanie, was so helpful and kind in answering our questions. I particularly enjoyed the palm butter/banga stew with the pounded yam fufu, and the cocktails were delicious too. There were also many vegan options, which was great for our party. I can't recommend Suya Joint enough!

Not only is the food absolutely delicious, so full of flavor and cooked to perfection, the service is outstanding. We stopped in for lunch and Melanie expertly advised us and shared some background of the menu items. For our first visit we tried both the appetizer Joint Sampler and the African Dinner. Everything incredible. The chicken wings with stew and the pineapple cake will certainly keep us coming back for more! Can't wait to come back and try the cocktail menu.

Still in soft opening--so no coffee or tea as yet--but the stews were richly flavored and the fufu silky smooth. Properly served to be eaten by hand with a dish of water to rinse--we didn't bother to ask if silverware was an option. The place is casual but nicely decorated with a full bar and friendly staff. Definitely a great addition to downtown dining.

Food and drinks were so good, atmosphere was fun and casual, prices were totally reasonable for quality of food and I like their built in gratuity model I really appreciate restaurants paying fair wages to staff. Staff was also amazing, this was my groups first time trying African cuisine and they answered all our questions and helped us pick food we would enjoy. If you have never tried African food, now’s your chance!! Highly recommend!!

Vegetarian options: Solid and plenty of vegetarian options. Highly recommend the veggie samosas!

Dietary restrictions: One member of our group was gluten free and they accommodated her no problem, her food was delicious
