First time and will revisit. Little more than cozy but enough room to still enjoy good conversation and very good sandwiches and, the pizza looked tasty.

I really wish we could have experienced The District when it wasn’t busy. But we went for dinner on a Saturday around 7. The reviews were what lead us there but we were extremely disappointed by the experience. For us, the service was terrible. We understand it was busy, coming from former service employees, but there was zero acknowledgement from our server for 15 minutes from sitting down. Even after we got our food, we didn’t see her again until we asked for the check. We had to ask a busser for silverware after sitting with our food for five minutes. During our time there, we saw two other tables seated in her section get up and leave before being greeted. We would have left too had we not wanted to wait at another restaurant. Was this just an off day for the server? I don’t know. But it definitely ruined the experience for us.

Great cocktails, chic hip decor. We made a reservation on a weekday for late lunch, but we were seated in the bar area, which felt weird. (Especially because there were others seated at tables.) We were underwhelmed by the hot honey pizza (absolutely no heat and hardly any sweet!) and the chicken sandwich, but Grandma liked the crab cakes and the fish and chips!

The place was busy upon arrival. We did not make a reservation, but we were seated fairly quickly. They seemed to be busy as our waiter didn’t come by often. The place is not very big, but there is outdoor seating. There is also a free parking lot for the restaurant. The kids portion of pasta and meatball was very large. The burger, meatball sandwich and fish tacos were a hit for our party.

✨ A Perfect End to Our Rhode Island Vacation! ✨
We wrapped up our trip with a visit to a Black-owned restaurant that absolutely blew us away! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming, soulful, and full of flavor just like the food.
The dishes were bursting with bold, authentic flavors and clearly made with love. Every bite was seasoned to perfection, and the portions were generous. The signature cocktails were next-level creative, strong, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re into sweet sips or something with a little kick, there’s something for everyone.
The service was outstanding warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about every item on the menu. You could feel the pride in every detail, from the food to the décor to the music that had us vibing the whole time.
If you’re ever in Rhode Island, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Supporting this gem of a Black-owned business was the best decision we made all trip. We left full and happy.

Always a great time. Love the vibe. The staff are great as well.
Great atmosphere, Great American fare. The menu has something for everyone. We had the kale salad w/ chicken and classic fish and chips. Portions were generous and food was flavorful. If you're in Providence it's worth a visit.

Awesome food for a great price! Great ambiance in the restaurant as well, will definitely be back
This eatery is in my top rotation. Always a hit, I even had my birthday here. Absolutely love The District.
The district is my favorite restaurant and continues to be delicious. The spinach and artichoke dip is amazing, pizza, fries, drinks great too.
Ok food and service. Abusive website and digital-only menu. Owner apparently in love with food photos, so on smartphone navigating the menu takes, say, FORTY PAGES. Idiotic. No paper menus. How costly could that be to have, say, 10 letter-size menus? $2? Finally, they could be more transparent that the main menu is NOT AVAILABLE mid-day Sundays.
Had the most amazing brunch today and service was impeccable with Andre! Food and drinks were phenomenal, such a great vibe we will back soon :)
