The fact that residents from the bordering state cannot enter the building is upsetting. If you have THAT MANY fake ids (like your bouncer says) get a scanner and stop denying people of actual age. The fact a male from the same state gets in, and women got denied is plainly disrespectful. The entire time the bouncer “claims it’s his job”, as you present 4 forms of ID, while someone with less get in, is beyond sad. Ultimately a very upsetting experience.
It was disappointing to see that my friend (who is 23) was denied entry because of her Connecticut license. While I understand that they see a lot of fake licenses because of the the several colleges in the area, their ability to determine a fake id from a real one was not impressive. The bouncer was rude and hard to talk to. My friend was obviously upset. This place used to be a go to spot for my friends and I. I unfortunately do not think I will be returning.

Couldn’t believe they had 100 beers. Lots of Belgian beer options that I hadn’t seen in a while and a comfortable throwback atmosphere. Not rowdy.

Favorite bar of all time. Been going here for 3 years now, Ken the owner is amazing guy as well as his whole staff. Great selection of beer on draft and bottled.

The place was more like a cave than a den, but I gotta say we enjoyed ourselves and the selection of beer! If you don’t mind more of a dive looking place it’s great!

One of the oldest pubs in the United States, just not the same name lol. The Son's of Liberty drank here! They still serve Half-Yards! A beer drinkers Mecca they have dozens of bottles and draft options. Priced right. One caveat, they haven't painted since the Son's drank there so keep a sense of humor. Great place for some suds. I've been a customer for over thirty years.
Dietary restrictions: As long as it's beer or whiskey you are good!
Kid-friendliness: Not!

It was chill. Strong drinks but strong price too. Great service tho
Visited Thursday 5th October 2023, late afternoon/early evening. The guy behind the bar late 50s early 60s didn't make us feel welcome. On placing an order for 4 beers he slammed my change down on the counter and walked off. On checking the change it was 10 dollars light. On raising the matter I was given a further 10 dollars. I'm his words he stated I normally do that after you've had a few drinks. Perhaps it was his kind of humour, who knows. The one positive is we were offered free pop corn Pub very dark, beer garden tired looking and could do with a weed out. If In the area again i would not return to this bar. We then went next door to the Point Tavern which was unbelievably excellent . Great service excellent food and cheaper beer and a very tidy, relaxing beer garden. Spent the night there.
Solid little place
