Don’t bother coming here, the staff was incredibly rude and would not even let me enter since my ID is not from RI (even though I was visiting friends from RI). Weird to expect people to bring passports to the bar... I won’t be coming back here especially since they were so condescending and rude.

Historic tavern located right on the Providence River, on the east side of the pedestrian bridge. The building itself is very cool, it's pretty roomy and the old style brick walls will make you feel like you drinking in a true colonial tavern. I enjoyed the beer list and they were all reasonable priced. They have a pool table, two dart boards, a couple TVs, and someone even came in with a chess set, so plenty of stuff to do. It's also close to downtown, so easy to find other places if you're bar hopping or just aren't feeling the vibe.

Found this spot and thought it would make a great new weekly hangout. Good vibes, chill atmosphere, pool table, darts, cheap drinks. All of a sudden we can’t get in because we have out of state ids…but they only have this policy on Fri/Sat apparently? Doesn’t make sense at all. Also this wasn’t a problem last week so I guess they just pick and choose when they want to turn people away.

Used to like coming here. Then they refused us service because we are not from Rhode Island and do not carry passports with us to bars, which would be silly. There was no one in there anyway.

Darts, pool, cheap drinks, and a cool vibe. Built in a historic building along with the PVD river and a block or so from the pedestrian bridge, the place is very cool. All brick walls (looks original) and a very cozy space. Never too packed, which is great for service and me getting drinks :). Oh and sign your name on the wall by the dart boards - make your mark! Probably not allowed but definitely tolerated.Parking: Park on the street or go into the private lot. Just tell the gate attendant you're going to the Wild Colonial.
Incredible casual hole in the wall bar in the heart of downtown. There are games to play like pool and darts. Service is from the bar and quick, depending on the number of folks there. We didn't try any food. Drinks are very cheap though!
