I've been many times over the years to this restaurant and never had less than an excellent experience. On this recent visit with another couple it delivered the same. Our server was pleasant and friendly without being intrusive and allowed us to take our time and enjoy the experience. We ordered off the specials that evening and , though all presented and tasted perfectly, the portion sizes bordered on slim, resembling more starter sizing than entree in my opinion. Otherwise a great evening and certainly worthy of it'd long standing reputation.

Stop for a bite to eat by myself. Sat at the bar. Service was wonderful. Great people. The beef carpaccio was incredible. Also the crispy sushi! I would go back for either one of them!

A very eclectic menu with superb service. This is a dining experience, so if you are having drinks, appetizers and entrees plan 2 hours if you are also doing the nearby gondola ride after, which we did and cut our arrival time a bit too close. Started with cocktails and the French onion soup, with the addition of the short rib and topped with gruyere it is sublime. We also had the tenderloin carpaccio, absolutely the perfect bite with the crispy sun choke chips, horseradish, parmesan and arugula. Had the stuffed rigatoni and it was soo good!!! This is food and service that lives up to its reputation. And thanks Kimberly for great service, and the Maitre D' was great, very accommodating and friendly.

I love Nuovo! We drive from Hartford area just to go there. When we lived in Rhody, it was my go to place for personal and business dinners. Always consistently excellent for 20 years. Last weekend, we went for my 70th bday with my family. I had Chilean sea bass (AKA Patagonian toothfish) that was out of this world. Every mouthful was ecstacy. The calamari app was great, too. Wish they were in CT.

We sat at the bar for drinks and an appetizer. I've eaten dinner here once and it was great. This time we only went here for a quick bite. Wine selection was solid and bartenders were really friendly. We ate one appetizer: crispy rice topped with yellow fin, wrapped around honey crisp apple with Korean chili paste. The combination of cold apple and tuna, with the crisp of the rice and the apple and the chili paste was awesome. Highly recommend this dish. Had a great conversation with the bartender whose name I cannot recall but who is from Queens . Highly recommend. Inside a cool building and on water. Outdoor seating available.

We only dine outdoors and Cafe Nuovo is a perfect outdoor ambience. We sad next to the canal, with a heat lamp nearby. Shrimp and calamari appetizer was delicious as was all our entrees. Our server wore a mask properly at all times. For entrees, we had the lamb shank, braised rib and stuffed rigatoni. Everything was delicious.

We don't like to eat indoors since COVID and the outdoor seating at this restaurant was nicely socially distanced. The service was friendly and enthusiastic. The food was good too. We shared some calamari and shrimp that was spicy without overwhelming the seafood. I had the salmon with a sweet potato crusting that was absolutely delicious. My husband a nicely prepared sword fish. My friend joined us and enjoyed her sorbet. The drinks were nicely priced and excellent as well. We would go again when we are in Providence.

I had a 615 reservation on this beautiful night. We sat indoors where it was quiet and not windy. The ambience was lovely and the menu and food were fantastic! The cauliflower Au gratin was a nice option and charred broccoli was surprisingly delicious. Both dinners were good. Our server, Leo, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Even though the restaurant was not busy, he was! I didn’t complain to anyone and we left our server a good tip but my God the service was s.l.o.w. We will return and give it another shot! :)

An expansive menu and an interesting atmosphere along the river makes for a very pleasant meal. We settled for a couple of starters and a split salad.

Just enjoyed another fabulous dinner with my husband...Sean always greets with a smile! John took excellent care of us...professional attention delivered in a warm manner. We enjoyed the salad special which was excellent. Our dinners were worthy of a photo. Beautifully presented salmon for me and scallops for him. One of our favorites restaurants.....always very special! Love to come here!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening here. Worth every penny. Our cocktails were well made [and not overpriced]. We started with the mushroom lettuce wraps. An interesting starter which - unlike many starters these days - was well designed to be a starter. Just enough food to get you going, not so much to fill you up. And the flavors were great. Nice bread basket too. For mains, the octopus pasta and the lamb shank. The pasta was a new menu item, it was on the lighter side [well, compared to the shank anyway] and was delicious. The shank was even better, outstanding for sure. Great service as well. An easy excellent rating, highly recommended.

This is my favorite place to go on campus! The customer service is awesome and so are all of the drinks and food!

Located in the Citizen's Bank building in downtown Provicence, at the Gondola Landing on the Riverwalk. Beautiful large dining room, quiet atmosphere. Waiter extremely helpful and cooperative. Large menu; many choices. My wife and I split the octopus appetizer....super! She had scallop entree; I chose the tuna. Both were beautiful in presentation, but more important, both were delicious. About $50 per person, with a drink. (Not including dessert, which we skipped. Portions were large.) Fine dining. Wonderful place for dinner! And valet parking right in front!

Just left this restaurant after having paid $10 for parking. Found that it was closed today despite every indication including their website saying they are open for lunch on Friday. Today might be a special day but it is not listed anywhere as them being closed.

This was one of the best restaurants I have visited in a while. We all enjoyed our salads, meals and desserts. Worth the drive!
