We stopped in today for a late lunch with my fiancé and son. We started with chips and salsa, which were quite good—though definitely on the spicy side. The wings were also pretty decent. I ordered a drink called “The Coconut Milk is Off” which tasted fine, but the portion seemed small—probably under 8 ounces.
Now for the disappointing part. We ordered nine tacos, each customized either for medical dietary needs or personal preferences. Unfortunately, they were all served on one platter with no labeling or way to distinguish between them. Each of us tried one taco, but the spice level was overwhelming. It wasn’t just hot—it was borderline inedible. Despite having dined in many places, including Mezcal and abroad, I’ve never encountered food so difficult to consume for such a range of reasons.
When the waitress asked how everything was, we explained that we couldn’t eat the tacos. Her immediate response was to ask if we wanted to take them home—which we did, with the intention of donating them rather than letting them go to waste. However, there was no offer to speak with a manager or address our concerns. Instead, she quickly pivoted to asking if we wanted dessert. I agreed, curious to see if any gesture would be made to acknowledge our poor experience. She brought out churros and then handed me the bill—no discount, no apology, and frankly, not a cheap meal.
Sadly, I won’t be returning. If you’re in the area, I recommend heading around the corner to Xaco Taco—much better food and service.

This was a great experience. Drinks were so good. So was service. Chris was so informative and sweet. I went to the Providence location. Please go!
Yellow Door in Providence offers a fantastic dining experience with a great atmosphere both inside and out on the back patio. The space feels vibrant and welcoming, perfect for a casual night out or a relaxed evening with friends. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent from start to finish.
We stopped in for RI Food Fights 'Taco Mania!' and had the Birria and Duck tacos, both were outstanding — full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The quality of the food really stands out. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and overall experience make it well worth it.
A nice bonus: they offer $5 tacos on Tuesdays, which is a perfect excuse to go back.
Overall, Yellow Door is a standout for anyone looking for delicious tacos, great service, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere in Providence.

Great location, food, service. Nice more upscale restaurant. I definitely recommend checking out. 🌮 🍹 right in the heart of Providence. Food was good! Go visit the big yellow doors!

I visited Yellow Door Taqueria yesterday and honestly, it was a mixed experience. The nachos were really good — super flavorful and fresh, definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the service brought the experience down. Our waiter Jasmine was surprisingly rude, even questioning the fact that I wanted to add Tajin to the nachos which made the visit less enjoyable. I’d come back for the food, but I really hope the staff improve their attitude toward customers.

Sat at the bar, we were not here for more than 5-10 minutes. Young girl at the bar was very rude after I tried to order the coffee tequila draft drink. Girl went on about how she can’t do this doesn’t have a keg can’t make an espresso martini doesn’t have a machine. Did not give me an opportunity to even say anything, no eye contact. No im sorry we are unfortunately out of this. I was excited to try this place
Gave us raw shrimp and wouldn’t take responsibility for it. Avoid getting the coconut shrimp taco. Food is mediocre. Go elsewhere. My partner has a stomach condition and consumed a bite of the taco which could lead to more serious issues. Poor management!

Went on Taco Tuesday. Tacos were okay, but a bit pricey at $5 each for a special. The menu leans toward creative tacos like Big Mac and orange chicken, which is fun, but if you’re going for a Miami vibe, it’d be nice to see a few classic Mexican street tacos (like carne asada or al pastor. with onions and cilantro).
Drinks were definitely Miami priced but lacked real flavor, tasted like cheap tequila. Service started off very rough, but once the bartender and possibly a manager stepped in and took over, things turned around and became excellent. 5 stars to them both!
The street corn was amazing, but overall, not much else stood out enough to make me want to return. Beside that and the bartender and manager.
