Our group was upstairs for a birthday party. Everything was perfect.

Just freaking lovely... This all started 2+ years ago during another of our frequent visits (from MD) when a local former fisherman we met post brunch at the Mews (?) told us Phil's is the place to try next time and it doesn't get much better with honest food and authentic staff.... Thank you, Charlie - we finally heeded your advice today and couldn't be happier we broke our fast here. It was busy and a bit hectic when we arrived around 11AM on a Saturday, but we were sat pretty quickly and placed drink and food orders within 10 ish minutes of getting seated. It's Saturday - we weren't in a rush, the people watching superb, and the eventual waitress charming and very competent. Veggie omelette and the Rhody Wrap we're delicious - so were the SPICY Bloody Marys that came garnished with the freshest little heirloom cherry tomato. Subsequent Irish Coldbrew and Mimosa were just as nice. The kitchen is open and to get to see the team churn through a mountain of orders ( take out was hopping as well while the restaurant was full) while smiling at each other, working in unison, precisely, efficiently and collaboratively was pretty cool. We loved this place. The food, the atmosphere and the service. It delivers like a classic diner, but is so much more. Thank you to all that handled service today 12/30/23 - y'all are rockstars and thank you for making us feel welcome for a little while! We'll be back.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free bread and vegetarian omelettes

We sat upstairs and had our friendly waitress Kimberly. She was great at recommended breakfast plates and was always around checking on us and refilling our drinks quickly, great server. The food was all amazing, prime rib Benedict, home fries were tasty and they were generous with bacon. Would recommend this place for breakfast for anyone visiting the area.

Worst experience! Our server was gracious and kind however, the owner is a complete nightmare! She really needs to learn about ADA laws! By law, she can ask 2 questions about a service animal. 30 minutes after us being there and in the middle of our meal she comes to our table and asks "is he a service animal" we reply yes he is. She then proceeds to make me show her the identification! She has no right to make show her the ID! I reluctantly did because I just didn't want anymore confrontation. I already have severe public anxiety. Then she plays the card "I don't know the law". Lady, you own a business! Know the law (especially ADA laws) and train your employees to ask these questions upon entering the establishment NOT 30 minutes after arriving and in the middle of your customers eating.

My wife and I stopped at Phil's after getting off the Block Island Ferry. It is only about 10 minutes from the boat. Downtown Wakefield is a great place with wonderful restaurants, shops and people. We stopped into Phil's before headed to the Glass Station which is a unique glass gallery. The atmosphere, staff and food were exactly what we were looking for in a breakfast place. I had the hash, eggs, home fries and rye toast which was outstanding. My wife had pancakes that were huge and delicious. Our server was friendly, talkative and patient- and we tipped her accordingly. The price was reasonable, especially after seeing the prices on Block Island that have gotten out of hand. Phil's is a gem, that apparently is open for lunch and dinner with wood fired pizza! Great place- we'll be back!

9.5.2023. Heard about Phil's and decided to try it for breakfast today. The food was awful! My scrambled eggs had a funky taste...so much so that after a couple of bites I called it quits. Bottom line: It wasn't worth the trip nor the $30.00 tab.

We used to come here for years. Now there is next to nothing available on the menu, the staff is rude, out of choices across the menu. I'll be surprised if this place is in business for another 6-12 months. Tourists beware, this place is not worth the stop at all any more.

Great place for breakfast! Have been coming here for years and it never disappoints, especially the homefries. The staff is also very helpful and kind. One tip though, if you have a fear of or are allergic to bees, do not sit on the patio, my table was swarmed by three wasps near the end of our meal.

My family and I came to Phil's for breakfast. Our first time dining there. Waitress was very pleasant and service was good. Our problem began when we were seated next to the open style kitchen. The noise from the constantly slamming dishes along with employees openly disagreeing with one another, not to mention who did and didn't have gloves on, was so unpleasant, we decided to leave without finishing our food. The food was hot and very tasty, but honestly we were concerned for the cleanliness of the cooks and had a hard time enjoying our meals. We will not be returning.
