Trattoria Romana Wakefield

This is our favorite restaurant by far. From Kirsty and Jeremy at the bar, Maureen greeting you, and Lisa as our server, it is always a great time and the food never disappoints!!

Our food was fabulous with the exception of the calamari. It was slightly overdone making it a bit chewy. The rest of the food was very delicious! Loved the tuna and burrata app very much. Danielle is an outstanding server!!!

This is the Best Italian Restaurant in South County. Food is always consistent and Large Portions. Staff is always friendly and ready to [please. Our server Montana is the best! Reservations are needed as they are always busy year round. It's not fun to be turned away!

EVERTHING ABOUT TRATTORIA IS VERY GOOD. THE ONLY CONCERN IS MOST AT THE TABLE FELT THERE WAS A DROP OFF IN THE FLAVOR FOOD COMPARED TO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES.

We enjoyed an evening out and were not disappointed by the food. This is a special restaurant we love to visit.

Food is always incredible. Our waitress Montana was exceptional. Somehow she just knew what my wife likes to eat.

Went to Tratoria with my wife for our anniversary. As usual, they did not disappoint. The reservation process was smooth, the service was exceptional and the food was amazing. This has become our "go to" restaurant for a great dining experience. Highly recommended! Larry

Having moved from NY a few years ago, we are very partial to authentic, consistent Italian cuisine. Trattoria Romana Wakefield never disappoints and we look forward to our staple weekly dinner. Not only are we treated like valued regular clientele, we feel like we are part of the family. Maureen & Scott run a magnificent front of house experience, and always do their best to make us feel welcome and supported. Jenna is an absolute star who we have come to call our friend, and we genuinely look forward to seeing her and the team every week. The food is delicious and you are able to customize to your exact liking, which makes it a perfect experience for adults and families with kids alike. Atmosphere is upscale Italian with a comfortable feel. Love Love Love.

Bucatini carbonara was horrible. The carbonara came out of a jar. Thick heavy commercial cream sauce. -- a crime against Italian cuisine. Absolutely inauthentic.. The sautéed spinach was tasteless. I don't know how you do that to garlic and oil. The service was prompt but the server was very loud. I'd have sent back my meal but we were guests of our host. Credit to dessert -- the strawberry and Gelato finale was delightful. And generous enough for 3 people. Our meal cost (with tax) 148.00 three cocktails, 3 mains. 2 side. 1 dessert. Reasonable cost but very mediocre. The lobster mac&cheese was shy on lobster, but a huge portion. NEVER going back.

In a very awkward incident, my friend found a large sharp piece of plastic in his food. When this lady which I believe called herself “manager” was informed, she handled the situation in front of all six of us so poorly that we no longer felt comfortable continuing our dinner. from the start of discussion, her unpleasant tone killed the atmosphere, and she had resistant to loudly offer that my friend’s meal would be on the house. She went to the kitchen to “investigate” and came back saying, “this is not from our end, I don’t know where that came from….” which later she denied having said that. really, lady!!! She obviously implied that either her own waitress or us put the plastic in the food. I’ve never seen such bizarre behavior from someone in charge at any restaurant. this was a very rare situation that should have been handled with much more care. at the end, she told us, “Whatever you want to do, this is how I’m handling the situation.”

We came as a group to celebrate a grant. At first, the service and the waitress seemed fine. However, I found a large piece of plastic in my eggplant parm. The manager came over and, after going to the kitchen, indirectly dismissed it by saying they could not find anything like it. I and also my friends were already upset about finding plastic in my food, and her response only made it worse. The only solution offered was a replacement dish or dessert, which is unacceptable given the situation and the negative experience it created for all of us. Poor hygiene, unprofessional manager, and overall very disappointing. There are many better Italian options nearby. They don’t seem to care about their customers.

If You Care About Your Health and Safety, Avoid This Place!

We decided to try this restaurant because of all the good reviews it had, but our experience was the opposite. There was a piece of hard plastic in my friend’s food (photo attached). My friend was lucky he didn’t hurt his tooth or swallow it, this could have turned into a very dangerous situation.

The manager did not handle the situation well. She indirectly accused us of doing it on purpose by saying, “We are sorry, but we investigated, and it was not on our end.”

I’d rather stay hungry than eat there again.

Great experience, huge portions of food that were very tasty. Drinks were delicious. Everything was outstanding.
