We had a wonderful time at the Farmhouse Kitchen & Bar. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. We sat right by the fireplace which was very cozy. On another occasion we sat in the bar and that was very nice..perfect for those nights when you don't feel like cooking. I'm sure we will be back again!

We dine at the Farmhouse on a somewhat regular basis. The food is good, not outstanding and the service always exceeds our expectations. Last night we had Betty who was delightful and very helpful. It was Burger and Beer night and the burger is always delicious. I would recommend this night as it is a nice option for a Sunday night.

Loved enjoying cocktails prepared by Tara in front of the wood burning fireplace to start the evening. The vibe in the dining room is warm and inviting. Our waiter Taylor was attentive and well informed. His timing was perfect and not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed the twist on the scallops and the hearty short rib. The medley of flavors was delightful in both dishes!

The server was great, the kitchen very slow. Charging $40 for 1 overdone pork chop, is taking advantage of customers! I eat at a lot of restaurants and rarely give a review. I think that with a few adjustments, Farmhouse could a good experience.

Farmhouse is my new favorite place in town, especially if I am dining alone. It's beautiful, calm and relaxing inside, which I find greatly appreciated after a stressful day at work. I love the rustic charm and especially the fireplaces! They always have relaxing music on, I know that might be a silly detail but it is enjoyable for someone looking to have a peaceful dinner. Staff is always pleasant and courteous when I go. I have never had a meal there I didn't like. The food is always very well presented and has just the right amount of flare to it so it is not boring or overdone. I also like how the menu changes so it's not the same thing every time. I would like to say I feel the quality of everything I've experienced there is equal to Weekapaug Inn but much more affordable. I'm hoping to get to experience an overnight stay soon! Farmhouse is an absolute treasure to the town.

Overall disappointed with the menu selections and the food we ordered. The value for what we received did not meet expectations. The ambience was very nice and the service was good. Not sure this restaurant will be on our top 5 places in the area.

This was not our first time at Farmhouse Kitchen, but the first time being seated in the bar vs the dining room. It was 7:15 on New Year's Eve, but it was oddly quiet, and I asked our server to turn on some music to add ambiance, which she did cheerfully. Our cocktails were good, nothing special. The complimentary warm cornbread was delicious as always. I had the ginger soup, which was tasty but barely warm. My husband had the Caesar salad in the permesan bowl, which he has had there before, but his time the lettuce was finely shredded, like what you'd get on a sub, which was odd. Hubby said the meatballs on polenta entree was delicious but not warm enough. I had the ravioli, which was disappointing... it seemed like store bought pasta that was undercooked, barely warm, and it was served in a BOWL of broth (not sauce, and not just a drizzle, but a bowl full of liquid-yuck). We skipped dessert and took what was left of our wine into the lovely library lounge to finish our visit. Overall, not a stellar experience. The staff was working hard and were friendly enough, but if this had been my first time here, I wouldn't return. Luckily, I know they can do much better, so we will be back.

Everything was great, drinks were mixed well, apps came out very quickly and the food, prime rib and tuna were both outstanding. Portions were much larger than expected. Our first time there and we will definitely be going back. Ambiance was great with small areas to sit and talk , overall a ten out of ten experiance.

The reviews were good. But the experience was not. The items we wanted on the drinks list were not available..:including the beer my husband wanted from the local brewery. The meatballs in my dish were rock hard, the food was not hot. We had to ask to have our waters filled and for another drink. Not what we expected for our New Year's Eve dinner.

We have always enjoyed our dinners at the Farmhouse but last night was the pits. We asked for red wine and most of the selections on the menu weren't available. After the waitress scrounged around she finally found something. There was no scotch no vodka for our other guests. Then the menu was limited but you didn't know that until you tried to order something. Portions were very small not anywhere near what they usually serve. Don't accept reservations if you aren't prepared to serve your guests.

The Farmhouse Kitchen + Bar was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. We both ordered a medium rare ribeye for around $50 each and had to send them back twice b/c they were RAW. But they came back completely RAW TWICE! I can understand one oversight, but two? Any inexperienced person with a thermometer can read 130-135 degrees to cook a steak. Let alone a "farm to table" restaurant. And the salads were abysmal - hard to chew, raw butternut squash. Both came with dressing that looked like it was out of a bottle. I can't remember when I paid for a WORSE MEAL. My wife just gave up after the second time and didn't eat dinner bc she was so disgusted. We shared mine. And the "truffle mashed potatoes" had zero truffle in them, and the green beans were soaked in garlic, making it inedible. Our server Betty was the only bright spot on the meal. She took off my wife's steak off the bill and gave us a free dessert. I may as well add that the dessert was also disappointing. It was a tasteless chocolate lava cake but the presentation was flubbed, as the ice cream crushed the lava cake to a mushy pancake pile on a plate. At that point the whole experience was laughable.

Loved being back at this cozy, warm venue that holds a lot of special family memories. The food was excellent, the service spectacular and the ambiance terrific. Can't wait to return!

I don't normally respond to these review requests but I feel that it is important this time to do so. The staff appeared to be very overwhelmed and the service was extremely slow. The food was very good but the entire experience was poor. It took an hour for the appetizers to arrive and the server kept apologizing that service was slow because there was another large party that was consuming the staffs time. At one point my wife was tired of waiting for her drink and went up to the bar - there was no bartender and our server approached my wife at the bar and got her a glass of wine herself. Shortly after we were served appetizers we were told that our meals could served soon because the private part was "taken of". It appears that the restaurant was overbooked for the amount of staff available and we felt as if we were not respected as patrons. I left a reasonably substantial tip as this is not a "service issue" caused by the servers in my opinion but definitely an issue with the restaurant management.

The food is very good but the menu could use an update. We go frequently and the menu has been the same since the new owners took over. Perhaps a special or two every night. Desserts are definitely not interesting.
