High Hope Tavern is a go-to place in downtown with a welcoming atmosphere, excellent drink selection, and friendly staff. Guests enjoy the cozy fireplace, bar seating, and live music on Thursdays. The eclectic atmosphere is complemented by fun cocktails, such as the 70s Old Fashioned and the 10/10 Shirley Temple. The food is innovative and delicious, with generous but reasonable portions. The Roasted Oysters, Devils on Horseback, Raw Oysters, Risotto, and Tavern Burgers are highly recommended. The fried grits are texture perfection, while the warm beans with broccoli rabe and soupy are savory and creamy. The French Onion soup, mussels in Chile tomato broth, and steakhouse-quality French fries were outstanding. The grilled banana bread was also a highlight. The menu is refreshing different and delicious. Food & drinks were very creative & absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is inviting & open. It is a casual but classy restaurant with exceptional customer service where the staff are friendly & welcoming. This establishment is the kind where you will want to come back again & again.
