Our server was personable and efficient and the food was fabulous. Best fried clam roll I’ve ever had!

High Hope is my go to place in down town. From the atmosphere, the drink selection, the food, the staff, etc.I send all of my clients, family, and friends to High Hope Tavern.I love the lighting the most. My favorite seat is to sit near the cozy fireplace or we love sitting at the bar. The bartenders are all amazing and friendly.I highly recommend the Roasted Oysters, Devils on Horseback, and the Raw Oysters.. you can never go wrong with their Risotto that they change often or the Tavern Burgers. Their fries are also amazing with the garlic aioli. The live music on Thursdays is always a treat. Shane is very talented.Christine is the sweetest hostess who greets everyone as if they are family.

I went here for my birthday, the place was busy but not full. My 8.5 mos pregnant friend arrived ten minutes early was told she couldn't sit down until the entire party arrived which I found to be rude because the table was ready. The restaurant was EXTREMELY loud, to the point where five people could not all participate in one conversation so we had to carry on two different convos. The music was far too loud for the terrible acoustics. The lighting was also horrible. The decor and design was nice from what I could see; the seating spaces were very tight.I think if you're paying really good money to eat somewhere, they should give you new cutlery after appetizers. And not leave dirty cutlery on the table as you're waiting for entrees. The overall feeling is that place caters to their bar patrons over their dinner guests. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable.

Wonderful dinner. Taylor, our server, was very welcoming and attentive. The 70s Old Fashioned was delicious. Very unctous and cheesy French Onion soup broth. I ordered the mussels and the Chile tomato broth was phenomenal. Hints of cumin, coriander, and all spice! The sour dough bread was dough and crusty. I ordered a side of French fries which were of steakhouse quality. This meal was one of the best that I've had in the Stonington/Mystic/Westerly area.

F’ing awesome experience! The atmosphere, the attention to detail, the cocktails, the grilled banana bread, watching the fireplace and the swift running river at the same time…it was an experience that I cannot wait to enjoy again!

Hostess made room at the crowded bar, Chelsea the bartender was a real pro, very friendly and engaging and the drinks were presented beautifully. Fantastic basic smash burger no frills but the flavor was right on. Atmosphere was just perfect. Definitely going back.

We took a drive to Westerly, RI and came to High Hope Tavern for dinner. First off, it's super cute and lovely inside. There's a fire place that makes it seem so cozy, and the bar is just beautiful! Started with some lovely cocktails- Peep this Jack (apple based and seasonal with ginger and bitters) and the Moxie (whiskey based with chipotle and bitters). Both were excellent and easy to drink. Next came the whipped ricotta with honey and pepitas and fresh bread to dip- incredible! I then had a burger- in all its simplicity it was absolutely mouthwatering! Fries were super crispy and golden. My husband tried the mussels- which was a huge bowl and the broth was full of flavor! Everything from start to finish was insane and we can't wait to come back again!

I am new to the area and decided to go in for a few drinks with some girlfriends after work. We sat at a high top table next to the bar and were greeted right away. Cocktails were good but the music was very loud and we had to tell to talk to each other at the same table, other than that everything was good I will be coming back for the food menu it was too late to order food by the time we got there.

Too loud, non attentive servers, bar tenders quick and solid pours.
