Pompelmo Gelato was a fantastic field trip!
Melanie welcomed our small homeschool group to the shop and shared about her journey between Argentina and Italy, her achievements and awards, some of the beautiful culture around gelato, how it’s made, what separates it from ice cream, what inspires her, and how she aims to keep its magic with ever changing daily flavors.
What a beautiful place. She generously let us tour the shop on her day off as well as sample multiple flavors of gelato. All delicious! She’s lovely to listen to and holds an abundance of story and information. This is the most delicious field trip I’ve ever been on. It truly felt magical! Pompelmo Gelato is a treasure!

This place is phenomenal. Most ice cream parlors now offer a vegan flavor or two but this place had 6 flavors available when I walked in. They rotate the flavors daily so it's worth multiple visits. Technically these are all water based so it's Sorbetto and not ice cream or gelato but the chocolate, strawberry basil & pineapple were so creamy/chewy that I would never have guessed that they didn't have some sort of plant milk / plant cream in them. Definitely worth a visit or two. Highly recommend the chocolate & strawberry basil if those two flavors are available when you walk in.

I have visited Westerly every summer for years and discovered Pompelmo a few years ago. The gelato and sorbets are uniformly awesome. Lots of dairy free options. Flavors seem to change daily, so we keep coming back. The vegan chocolate sorbets is incredible.

The dark chocolate and PB&J vegan sorbets were delicious, and the chocolate covered popsicles were incredible and used really high quality dark chocolate.

Pompelmo Gelato is my daughter’s favorite place. They don't use artificial dyes, so she can have any flavor, and they always have vegan flavors for me (the strawberry mimosa was amazing). They made her a beautiful gelato birthday cake, which really made her day. It’s a great place, with great employees/ owner, and amazing flavors for everyone. ❤️
Am on Amtrak on my way to Westerly from New York. My first of several stops will be to see “Miss Melanie” for amazing gelato! Five Stars are not enough!
Amazingly affordable gelato! It tastes good! Kids love it! You can park on the side of the road. It's nice that they have kids sizes!

As soon as they served me, my ice cream started melting. The lady on the register looked at me as I was invisible and did nothing. I took like 5+ napkins to clean my hands a complete mess. Out of my 2 flavors, one went to the trash inside the store.

Really good Gelato probably the best I’ve had, it’s just too bad the people that work there are not friendly orwelcoming at all. On Tuesday 8/13 6:00 there was No Smiles, No thank you or have a nice day. The owner should take note of this.
