Pooch's is the new version of the much loved Matled Barley on High St in Westerly. The taps are still there, they open all three floors just like before. They even kept some key staff, so if you need a little recommendation on the tap list fear not! I can't vouch for the new kitchen, but overall I felt very much at home... just like I did before 😪

I came to the area for a soccer tournament and called Pooch's with 3 days notice inquiring if they could accommodate a group of ~35. I assumed no one would be able to assist given the size of group and limited notice, but not only did the Maria call me back within 30 minutes of my call, but was so kind in offering us a private space and provided flexibility in timing, if needed.
When we got there, they organized everyone's checks by player so each family could have an individual bill. The food was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. The team all had a great time and Pooch's Pour House was absolutely perfect for us. Thank you for everything, Maria and co.

Absolutely phenomenal place that handled our party of 30 with ease.
7/5/25 - Bartender was extremely rude. He combative from the second we walked in the door. It was like he was mad at us for coming into the bar. Yet the man at the bar who said “I’d like to kill all the asians and ‘pocahontas’s’ “ while staring at my friend group (made up of an asian and a native american) was completely fine. Bartender even chuckled along with him.

Yall!!! Spend your money here!! The food- AMAZING. service- incredibly personable and welcoming. Atmosphere- exciting. Pricing - so reasonable! My family and I were vacationing here for a week and visited twice and ordered take out our final night for a third visit. From our waiter we had both times we went in, I believe his name was Aiden, to the gal taking our order over the phone, Chloe- the staff is on their game and takes great care of you, jokes around and truly seems to enjoy their job. Also- $3 white claws!!! Woohoo. I wish I had pictures of the food to post but we all were having such a great time no one was even on their phones while visiting. I will for sure forever recommend this place to everyone!

We had a private party for my sons Graduation and it was phenomenal. Maria is such a pleasure to work with and Amy our waitress was so friendly and helpful she really did a amazing job. The charcuterie board was huge with everything you could think of. All the food was perfect. The space downstairs is exactly what you would want and it even has a outside deck with view of river. Just a perfect party. Thank you all for an awesome experience.
