Go for the view and ambience - NOT for the food or service. Fantastic views of the ocean on one side, croquet court and grounds of the Ocean House hotel. Over your other shoulder you can see the harbor and Stonington across the harbor. We had cocktails and dinner at 7pm and it was breathtaking. The service was fair-to-poor. Food was also fair-to-poor. I had a hot buttered lobster roll (which should have been spectacular given the New England location) and it was chewy, very disappointing...
Awesome table, awesome view, awesome server! Our drinks were very good! I had been 2 weeks ago and had the lobster roll and it was delicious. I got it again and it was a little “soupy” and the bun was a little stale. It wasn't terrible but it just wasn't as good as the one I had 2 weeks ago.
Wow! This setting is so lovely overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There is not a bad table and the staff seemed genuinely pleased to have us there. Food is delicious. Have the hot lobster roll!
