The pizza here is good and if you want true neopolitan style, here ya go. However, I found the service and attitude to be a drag. It is simply, their way. No takeout, eat in only. Bring a smart phone and know how to access their menu. No substitutions. If you like their pizza and follow their rules, you will enjoy. If not, be prepared... I would think you would want to adapt to your market, these people are comfortable with the way they do business. It's always the customers' right dine or not to dine where they want. For us, too many rules and restrictions and that's OK.

First of all, the pizza was complete trash! I live in the New Haven area and this pizza was nothing like New Haven style pizza. It was soft and doughy and it was more like pita bread. However, that wasn’t even the biggest problem. Bad food happens and you move on. I have never written a review before, but I was so moved this time to do so. The little “man” who was the owner, could not have been more mean, rude and obnoxious. The nice girl at the register was practically in tears the way he treated her. She looked so scared, like an indentured servant. As he was berating her, she responded several times to him, “yes sir, yes sir, etc…”. We were there for take out and he scolded my son for holding a bottle of water and told him to get it outta here. Even the signs on the doors and inside with specific instructions with exclamation points were way over the top. The environment was totally unwelcoming. Very cool oven though….to bad he doesn’t know how to use it. Enter at your own risk. You have been warned.
Additional info….as predicted, his response, like so many other of his negative reviews(don’t take my word, just read them), was to tell the customer how wrong he or she is and to take absolutely no accountability for his actions, maybe throw an apology in, or whatever. To the contrary, he tells people how stupid they are, not cultured enough to even eat at his restaurant and often throws in a subtle threat. Sounds perfect for a customer service business. I wish you all the best sir and “buon appetito” to all!!!

Great food, zero customer service skills. The lady brought out our food, and ran away before we could ask for anything. Went to front counter to ask for sauce, was completely ignored, finally got the attention of someone, who then told me I need to get back in line, behind 3+ parties coming in. After waiting almost an hour for a pizza already. 👎🏼

The man In charge needs to learn how to treat customers with respect. My wife and her friend traveled from Augusta GA to spend time in Aiken and stopped in your restaurant for pizza. You should be grateful and thankful that they stopped in your restaurant. Unfortunately that will be the last time my family and friends will step foot in your restaurant. A good restaurant has good food, good service, friendly and they treat their customers with dignity and respect. Next time my friends or family travel to Aiken you can be sure we will spend our money somewhere else other than your restaurant.

So I have decided to rate them with a 3 based first on price versus size. Selling a small pizza as a large at a large pizza price. $20 for a small.(their large) is over priced. The photo added is a normal size dinner plate just to give you a reference to their large pizza. I ordered a pepperoni and a black olive as you can see there is very very little pepperoni added. Their cheese is good sauce is pretty decent a little on the thin side. I just finished the pie unfortunately I’m still a little hungry. However, I must admit it was delicious. If they could increase their size , I feel like they could be a definite contender. Understand I come from New York known for pizza and some other things we will not discuss. I will be a return customer.

I don’t leave many negative reviews, but this visit deserves an honest and detailed account. From the moment my group walked in, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. We were greeted with a dismissive attitude, and when I politely asked the woman at the counter where their trash can was, she ignored me entirely. Confusing and Inconsistent Ordering System They seat you as if it were a normal dine-in restaurant but then require you to stand up again and order everything at the counter — and still pay at the end. I even attempted to pay when I placed my order, and they refused. The process makes no sense and does not match the dine-in setup they present. They also have multiple menus online with different prices, and when asked about updating or correcting them, they simply refuse. Unprofessional Behavior From the Owner After placing my order, the man in the back — I was told his name is Cliff, and that he is the owner — commented about “no outside food or drinks.” I explained that the bottle I carried in was empty when I arrived, and that we were already drinking items purchased from the restaurant. Instead of listening, he doubled down and said: “No outside trash either. Put it in your car.” This was especially absurd considering there is not a single trash can outside the building at all. I had to walk to another shop in the same strip mall just to throw away a 16-oz bottle. The attitude and pettiness from the owner were unnecessary and unprofessional. When I returned, the experience had already been ruined, so I asked them to cancel my order. Food Quality and Portion Inconsistencies Two people in my group — who have eaten here before — ordered meatballs and a pizza for the table, and I tasted the food with them. Unfortunately, the food did not redeem the experience. The pizza was slightly cold despite looking burnt. The brick oven clearly isn’t seasoned well; the pizza had almost no flavor. The meatballs were not good. Our meatballs were extremely small and served on cheap plates. The table next to us received noticeably larger meatballs on different plates. Even the returning guests in my group said the portions used to be much larger. The inconsistency in both portion size and presentation was obvious and disappointing. Throughout the entire visit, Cliff behaved as though he didn’t want to serve us at all. His tone, attitude, and general behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere from start to finish. The only positive thing about this restaurant is the use of a traditional brick oven — but even that couldn’t save the overall experience. Between the rude behavior, dismissive attitude, confusing ordering system, inconsistent menus, lack of trash cans, bland food, portion inconsistencies, and the owner’s unprofessional conduct, this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I have had locally. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone expecting respect, consistency, or basic professionalism. Because TripAdvisor (like Google) does not allow customers to reply directly to an owner’s comment beneath the review, I am including my response here. After I posted my review elsewhere, the owner replied publicly — not by addressing any of the concerns mentioned, but by insulting me personally. I ate the food my friends paid for because that is basic manners, when someone buys you something, you don’t waste it. That does not magically make the service or experience good. His response only confirmed everything I described: He did not address the rude service. He did not address the ignored question. He did not address the lack of a trash can. He did not address the menu discrepancies. He did not address the portion issues. He did not address the cold, flavorless food. Instead, he doubled down with personal comments and hostility. A professional business owner would: address issues raised in a review, accept feedback and respond respectfully. His reply did none of these things. Thank you for publicly confirming the exact behavior I

I wish I could say my experience matched the reputation, but unfortunately it did not and future vegan or vegan-friendly diners should know what they may encounter. From the moment my group walked in, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. I politely asked the woman at the counter where their trash can was, and she ignored me completely. They seat you like a typical dine-in restaurant, but then require you to get up again and order at the counter and still pay at the end. When I tried to pay during ordering, they told me no. I had to walk to another shop in the strip mall just to throw away a 16-oz bottle. The tone and attitude were completely unprofessional. Two people in my group ordered a pizza and meatballs, and I tried the food they paid for. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for the experience: Pizza was slightly cold despite being burnt Brick oven seems unseasoned with almost no flavor Meatballs were cold, tiny, and served on plastic plates Table next to us received much larger portions on different plates My group members (repeat diners) said the portions used to be much bigger There was obvious inconsistency in portions and quality. Throughout the visit, the owner behaved as if he didn’t want to serve us at all. The atmosphere was uncomfortable from start to finish. For vegan diners specifically: Yes, they offer vegan cheese and can make certain items vegan, but the inconsistent service, portion sizes, cold food, and the owner’s attitude are worth factoring in before you visit. Several other HappyCow reviews mention similar issues. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-13

The pizza was very good. I had the New Haven and it didn’t disappoint. The crust had very little flop, the sauce had great flavor and the amount of cheese was perfect. It wasn’t overly greasy, while still maintaining great flavor.

I had a margherita pizza and a caprese salad. The caprese was good, but honestly that’s kind of hard to mess up. The pizza was undercooked, doughy, and kind of bland. It was $30, and for the price point I would expect more. Also this place has all sorts of strange rules which I found off putting. I felt like if I did one thing wrong, the owner would grab my plate and yell, “no pizza for you!”

I was the only person in there at lunch time if that tells you anything.

Best kept secret in Aiken. Owner is very friendly and loves his customers. He personalized my experience through conversation. The staff was friendly, wait times were below average, and the lunch special was amazing.

Really really good authentic pizza. I’ve been several times when I come to town to play golf. I obviously try to avoid M & Tu. The setting is nothing, the service very Gen Z

Owners are deadly serious about their way which is how you run a restaurant, but for me and infrequent visitors a little more charm would be nice, and I’m personally a grump who needs no service

They’ll do fine with or without me, but the pizza is worth the attitude.

The food is worth it but there’s not much else. In a strip it’s very American that way but honors the Pizza Napoli traditions with a well made pie of fresh ingredients. But I think they want to be like the famous Apizza in New Haven. Atmosphere is non existent, you are treated like cattle and the owners seem to have employees terrified. Service consists of the food being brought to your table. Ordering evokes the Seinfeld “Soup Nasty” episode, it’s hard to keep a straight face, you are also often reminded to not request your pizza be cut before being brought to you and “to eat with a knife and fork like they do in Italy. It would be one big joke were the pizza not so terrific. Desserts? You decide, way too sweet for me I’ve been a number of times and love the pizza, the rest? It’s up to you

Authentic Italian style pizza with fresh ingredients imported from Italy. Staff were friendly and inviting. Prices are average. Food was delicious! Everyone in our family loved this pizza and the garlic Parmesan cheese bites. Absolutely recommend
