WORST experience ever! We went to this place for a simple to go order. Never in my life have I known for a place to prioritize orders for people that come in to dine over people who place to go orders. We witnessed 2 separate parties of three who came and were seated at least 30 minutes after our order was placed. Within 15-20 minutes their order was on the table already made. Meanwhile our order wasn’t even started. We asked for a refund and with no apologies or explanation, it was refunded. I have read previous reviews and see how the owner responds to most posts. Dear owner, you are blessed to still have a business because you are not at all a person who appreciates the customers who decide to dine at your restaurant. Respond to this post by stating that you are willing to put up a sign explaining that people who decide to dine in will have their orders prioritized over to go orders. It seems as though you have a way of trying to make yourself feel better by responding in a mean and hateful way so I’ll wait for my prediction to be confirmed.
First, let me say this: this is hands-down the best pizza I’ve had in South Carolina. Point blank. I’m from Jersey, so two things I really appreciate are good pizza and candor — and this place delivers both.
If you’ve ever watched Seinfeld, you might remember the “Soup *Yahtzee*” episode. The restaurant had the best soup in Manhattan, but you had to follow odd rules to get served. That’s the vibe here (though don’t worry, they will serve you 😂).
The pizza is amazing — seriously, top-tier quality. But if you choose to eat in, just know the experience is... different:
You refill your own drinks.
You cut your own pizza.
You pretty much mind your business.
No one even greeted us or said goodbye lol.
It’s bizarre, but somehow it works — because the food is just that good.
My point is this: the food is 🔥🔥, so I’ll continue to support them. I don’t mind cutting my own pizza or getting my own drink. And I respect someone who likes to run their place a certain way.
The choice is yours, but I’d say: curb your expectations, enjoy the uniqueness, and don’t let entitlement keep you from some of the best pizza you’ll ever eat in the South. This is my go-to pizza spot!
We love this place! The food is amazing! Best pizza and desserts in the area. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Thank you for another great experience!
Got pizza go. Great crust and topping ratio. Not too much, not to little. Quit enjoyable.
It may not mean anything to the average American, but these guys have mozzarella di buffala. I spent 3 years in Italy with the navy and I miss that cheese every day. The pizza is as close as I have ever found to an Italian pie, which is to say almost impossible to tell apart.
The limoncello gelato was also incredible. If youre looking for authenticity, I think this is the place.
I stumbled across this place looking for a pizza place. The name drew me in because I used to live outside of Napoli (Gricignano Di Aversa) then I saw they offered a margherita WITH Mozzarella di bufala. Instantly sold, and told my husband thats what I want for mothers day dinner. The last thing was prosecco, never heard of the brand I ordered but it reminded me of my favorite Santa Margherita so a final win in my book.
I almost didnt come because of the 1 star reviews about the owner, but he was there and was delightful, as well as the staff. Felt like I was back in Italy.
The only (teeny tiny) downside is my margherita was a little more soupy than Im used to, but the flavor was nostalgic and didnt bother me, extra juice to dip my crust in <3
One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. I ordered a New Haven pizza and side salad after a long day of work in Aiken, SC.
PROS: The crust was thin and crispy on the New Haven pizza. I always thought that a New Haven pizza was without cheese and only tomato sauce with some pecorino, but I really enjoyed this pizza and ate the whole thing. The salad was delicious and blueberry pomegranate, balsamic vinaigrette had a lot of flavor.
CONS: The pizza was not cut, despite the menu saying that it would be cut. Some pizzas on the menu say UNCUT next to the name of the pizza with the disclaimer that Neapolitan pizza should not be cut. Normally it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but I was staying in a hotel but the plastic fork and knife they gave me was enough to cut the pizza. It was $26 for a 12 inch pizza and some spring mix and halved cherry but I don’t mind paying that much for a meal when it is high-quality. And this pizza and salad was very delicious. They gave me a 8:05 PM pick up time but when I walked in at 7:55 the pizza was being put into the box so that could have something to do with it not being cut.
Overall, this was a high-quality pizza and salad, and it was very delicious after a long day of work. The next time I’m in Aiken, I plan to order from here again. Highly recommend!
The best pizza!!!! They cook with a wood stove and man it is worth it!!! True traditional wood fire pizza! Best hands down! Owner is a true artist; you see it with every plate, A true Mastercraft lesson in his profession.
As soon as we entered, we requested to sit in a booth but were informed that reservations were required. Shortly after, I received a phone call, and within seconds, one of the managers approached us to say we were being too loud. Throughout our visit, staff members kept walking around, but they rarely checked in to see if we needed anything; it felt more like they were making sure guests didn't leave without paying. When it came time to pay, we were given only the total amount without any itemized bill, which felt unusual. When we requested a to-go box, we were told that larger boxes were reserved exclusively for to-go orders. Overall, the atmosphere felt quite somber—staff seemed unhappy, and it made me wonder if perhaps strict management policies prevent younger team members from bringing fresh energy to the place. Unfortunately I will not be coming back
The food was great but the service was not they were very rude

It's real pizza !!!! This pizza was the best pizza I've ever had. The service and atmosphere was different but I also enjoy it at the same time. The reason you come here is for the time and care that goes into to the food. It's 5 star pizza
Update: NO WHERE did I ever call him a liar. Bashing people who are cottage business owners. Unbelievable! Owner is very confused as to whom started the keyboard warrior fight. He's unable to take any negative feedback about his establishment. You don't agree that he has the best pizza he becomes very combative.
Beware before you patronize his business. Read the other reviews as well.
Owner just wants to pick a fight and be incredibly rude. I merely said that his pizza didn't compare to New Haven pizza. Not being disrespectful just honest and he proceeds to do rip me a new one on FB.
Why would anyone want to patronize his establishment when he cops an attitude?
There's better out there. I'll spend my money where people are friendly, respectful, and open mind.
Food was great but the staff was unwelcoming and surly. Unfortunately your staff's attitude will prevent me from returning ever again.
Edit: Pizza man's condescending response was that he doesn't expect staff to cater to him and focus on the food. I, however, do expect good service, like most people who pay $60 for a pizza and a few appetizers. Considering the large number of great restaurants in the area, we could go to 50 places and be welcomed by staff, and be treated respectfully and have a great meal AND great service. That girl with the dry elbows did not provide even decent customer service.
Might be the best pizza I've ever had. After moving from NY last year, we were worried about finding GOOD pizza. It wasn't just good, it is GREAT.
Nice place for a quiet dinner out. Staff was friendly and attentive but not overbearing.
Will absolutely be returning to try other menu items.
Wee we’re excited to eat here after a strong suggestion from a friend and having read the menu. We were warned that the service is austere and that the owner is rather strict with his pizza beliefs. We were given plastic cups for water and a styrofoam cup for our eleven year old daughter We asked to exchange the styrofoam for a plastic cup which lead to the owner staring at our daughter before consenting. The water tasted awful. The salad dressing listed as “house made balsamic vinegret” looked like it came out of a plastic jug from Sysco and tasted like a cross between sweet bbq sauce and vinegar. The pizzas were all floppy with little to no flavor and greasy. The red wine had a very off putting gassy taste. We would have been better off buying some frozen pizzas, and not spent $119 for subpar food.
Per your request, here is the first of many products I found fitting your description, which wasn’t announced on your menu.
