Cracker Barrel Reviews
I was boycotting Cracker Barrel when I found how deeply they were entrenched in and pushing DEI and remodeling their stores, but I believe in Grace and forgiveness, so I went Sunday to the Anderson location. The service was great and so was the food. I'm glad they changed paths!
Granted they were packed, got seated quickly, went ahead and placed our order when the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. A big mixup on the order. Said we got 3 sides, which we ordered. 30 minutes later our food arrived and there was only 2 sides. Then she stated that it only came with 2 sides which was not what she said. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store offers a mix of classic American comfort food and attentive service. The chicken and dumplings may be hit-or-miss, with some guests noting little chicken in the dish, but the overall food quality is generally good. The restaurant's menu caters to various preferences, including seafood and vegetarian options. The fried okra, mashed potatoes, and green beans are good, although some have found the mashed potatoes to be dry. The biscuits, once considered some of the best, now seem smaller and have been compared to packaged frozen ones. The fried Turkey was a bit stiff, but everything else was delicious and prepared well. The staff, including friendly waitresses like Susan and Talatha, are responsive to customer feedback, creating a nice atmosphere. There is usually a wait for seating, but recent events led to quicker seating experiences. Guests have enjoyed the sugar-cured ham, which comes with a delicious kale and brussel sprout salad and a sweet and tangy dressing. Overall, the restaurant provides a comforting experience that makes guests feel like part of a community, despite occasional noise from larger families nearby.
