Shucks Oyster Bar Reviews
This is the first review i have ever written, that’s how disappointed i am. This was a first time visit for me and my friends and we were super excited because we had heard great things about their oysters… i myself don’t eat oysters but i will say they were very flavorful and my friends really enjoyed them! Our waiter was also so sweet and attentive! However, we all made the mistake of ordering the shrimp and crab alfredo which just happens to be one of their most expensive...read full review
This was our favorite restaurant at one time but it’s been so disappointing the last few times we have been there. The shrimp and grits I got tonight tasted spoiled, one bite and I was done. The pimento cheese was so spicy you couldn’t eat it. I feel like we wasted $80!! I literally came home and cooked tacos because we left hungry!
First timers. We loved the food and the easy atmosphere!!!
Menu
Shucks Oyster Bar is a seafood restaurant that is making a steady comeback after a brief hiatus. The wait staff is described as friendly, nice, and helpful, providing good information about the menu. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes, including a Low Country Boil and crab legs.
The food quality has received mixed reviews; while the boiled shrimp is well-received, the oysters have been described as just good, lacking the expected flavor and presentation. The crab & shrimp pasta also needed more seasoning. Some customers noted that the portions of crab legs were smaller than expected, and the garlic butter for dipping turned greasy quickly. Additionally, the side salad was served without dressing, which disappointed some diners.
Despite these concerns, many customers enjoy the atmosphere, praising the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly service. Happy hour is a favorite time for many, with good margarita flights and a yummy chopped salad. The restaurant is regaining its place in the local dining scene, with positive feedback about its specialty cocktails, particularly the spicy pineapple margarita.
