The food is ok,but VERY PRICEY to not get a drink to go with it.Drinks only included if u dine in,but carry out u have to pay for a drink

I was there on a SUNDAY!
They know a church crowd is coming.... The food ran out just as fast as they put it out.

The food was scarce!
Their attitude was rude!

I believe they love like that to prevent too much food being consumed although it is a buffet.

I had to wait in fried chicken, cabbage, greens, yams, Mac n cheese (all of the popular items).

I do not recommend this mom and pop restaurant.

EVERYONE was RUDE, except the cashier.

My husband and I stopped in Bennetsville to catch a midday meal on the way home from the beach. We searched places to eat on the Maps app, and I don’t think we would have found it otherwise! This place is small, but Oh my goodness! It is Full of Heart that exemplifies Real Southern hospitality! Delicious sides and Main entrees, and so much to pick from, you just have to get two plates! Everyone was so friendly, and made us feel welcomed! We will stop again, I’ve already recommended this place to my daughter.

I saw an episode of Country Style and there was a pop up that said it was Carolina Soul Food next to Citi Trends in Bennettesville SC. I tried to Google that name but YOUR restaurant keeps coming up. Are you the same people?

Totally your grandmother’s home cooking! This family definitely knows how to cook! The Sunday buffet was loaded with a huge variety of meats AND vegetables plus bread and desserts. There was fried chicken, turkey and turkey wings, ham, ox tail stew, white corn, limas, cabbage, collard greens, yams, dressing, rice, macaroni and cheese, dumplings, and the list goes on! It was all so good we almost ate until we were sick! They had a variety of desserts too. We had the red velvet cake and banana pudding. Both were delicious. You’ll want to come here again and again. Great friendly service and the tables looked beautiful in white tablecloths and Valentine’s Day decor in the restaurant. Thank you for the best meal we have had in years.

After a recommendation from a friend I went to Genesis. Paid a pretty penny for buffet for my husband and I. Not much variety and the things that were on the Buffett was not kept available to get. Used paper plates and cups and plastic utensils. The food was just so-so. Got scolded by an employee who thought I was using a plate that I had eaten out of. Some one else had given us extra plates and she had not so when I headed to the bar again, she yelled you can’t use that plate loudly so everyone heard. THE END!!!

When I pay almost $20.00 for a meal, I expect to be given proper silverware, not a plastic spork! The cost of the meal doesn't even Include a beverage, other than water. The chicken breast was tasty. The greens and corn muffins were mediocre, cold though. Several of the food spits contained nothing. The only thing worth praising is the macaroni and cheese. The cabbage was undercooked and lacked sufficient seasoning, and like everything else, was cold. The other vegetables I tasted came straight from a can. I'll keep that in mind the next time I get hungry because I will never patronize this place again.

Oh My God! We barely found it! It's right next to a Thrift Store. There were so many cars, I thought it was for the Thrift store. We just took a chance after a friend told a friend about thus Genesis Restaurant.
Oh My God, how good the food was!!!!! I rolled out, stuffed to the gills! Even the sweet tea, was thee best I've ever had!
The waitress was a lovely hardworking young wo.an named Saymrya. What a joy she was! But Oh My God, the food is delicious!!!!!! Ya' hear me...delicious!! The best!

This is so different from what I’m used to. I got in right when they were opening, didn’t know they opened at 11:30. I was greeted like I was a long distance family member. Genuine southern hospitality with genuine southern cooking. Absolutely delicious well seasoned chicken thighs! Definitely give this place a visit if you’re driving through.

This is a great place to get good country food. The problem is the 2 young ladies being rude and thinking they can get away with talking reckless towards the customer. The issue at hand was when asked about are they going to put more food on the bar and one replied not until all this is gone… who wants what looks like messed over food … they bar looked like they were done … the older lady with the glasses stepped in and tried to fix it but the damage was already done. They had potato salad out where people breath could breathe on it sitting on a table without any covering…(no not for me) I personally think that they overcharged me for what I received. But they don’t ever have to see me again… the young ladies (their family members I can give 0 for their rotten behaviors. Keep the bar up with food……you know you have people in the long line, and teach them how to keep their mouth closed unless they are going to smile… I’m sure others felt the same way too… having to wait for food… and dealing with obnoxious service staff …
