If you were thinking of going, do it. Excellent mead and the owner was so nice and knowledgeable about his product. As a mead fan, the mead was outstanding. Buy a bottle.

Phenomenal place! Both owners were extremely kind and were happy to inform us on all the different meads that they had. The inside of the place was small but very well decorated. All of the meads were delicious and very different from one to another. Before I left I purchased a bottle of their Sour Cherry Mead. Will be back!

What a great find! We moved here from the Los Angeles area and literally stumbled upon this great shop (went to turn around in the parking lot and decided to explore)! Lavender honey, tasty mead liqueurs, and a (refillable) jug of fantastic sparkling pomegranate and orange mead! We've filled it several times since that first visit - I'm enjoying a delicious peach mead right now!! Do yourself a favor and stop in, taste a few options, and support this local treasure!

I walked in and said “it’s been a long time since I had a good mead” and Mike smiled and replied “you’re quest has ended!” And boy was he right! Phenomenal drink selections and friendly service.

So we're ending our short vacation in South Carolina and we had found a place to purchase mead in Hilton Head. BeeTown Meadery was a bit of a drive to get to and I'm certain in the summertime with all the vacationers in Hilton Head it gets even harder. To boot, they're only open from 12:00 to 5:00, so you have to be cognizant of the time to be able to stop and purchase anything. But I highly recommend you make the time. It was a very pleasant stop meeting the owners chatting a bit about our experiences with obtaining mead and about their journey into creating their business. They have numerous meads with various flavorings including some brewed meads. I think in total we walked out was about 10 bottles. One of them was a wonderful brewed cranberry orange mead. As a brewed mead, it's not one to consider around for any length of time and needs to be consumed within a four or five days. I will admit it's sat in the refrigerator overnight and was consumed that next day. Very very enjoyable. I look forward to the tastings of the other bottles we purchased.

Excellent mead with dryness levels appropriate for any discerning palate, small operation which means personal attention and knowledgeable commentary, competitive prices for such a niche product.Highly recommend.

Wide selection if meads and the guy running the meads is very helpful and courteous....if you never tried meads, this is the place to start. Left with a few bottles and a growler...

Owners are local couple and very knowledgeable about mead, this meadery is the first one in the state of SC and one of the only ones in the state. I ordered the first 3 meads on their extensive list as they were most traditional and also a growler of their cider. The drinks themselves are high quality so far and definitely has a high class/craft taste to it, very smooth and easy to drink. Similar to a fortified beer or a white wine. This is probably due to the high quality of work and ingredients that goes into every batch, including working with mostly local beekeepers in SC, GA, and a few other states. Bonus points for being the mead pioneers of SC and being an invaluable cultural bastion right here in Bluffton, SC.

Meadery/Cidery in Bluffton, SC with fabulous meads (honey wines)! It is actually the state of South Carolina’s first production meadery! It’s a small place with a chill atmosphere. You can sample several of their meads (1oz pours) to see which ones you like best then order a full pour of that. I’m a huge fan of fruited meads and their’s are top notch! My absolute favorite is the sour cherry mead - phenomenal! They also have a nice wild blueberry and a strawberry. Normally it is very difficult to capture the full flavor of strawberries in a mead but somehow they are able to pull it off nicely! It’s definitely worth the trip. If you’re lucky, the owner/founder will show up to talk about meads with you. It’s clearly his passion and you will learn a lot! Cheers!
