I love May River Grill. The food is fantastic and staff are all amazing. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Enjoyed a great dinner last night! I know it is a seafood restaurant, but I just had to try the Jaeger Schnitzel. I have had it at German restaurants, but I wanted to compare it with the May River Grill's. It was excellent! I especially enjoyed it with the mushroom demi glaze sauce with bacon, onions, and peppers. The cutlet was tender with a lightly breaded coating. The chef did a fantastic job! Our server, Justin, was friendly and very accommodating. Definitely need reservations and be aware that there is another restaurant with the same name in Palmetto Bluff. The two are not related, but are easily confused when making reservations.

We came in with two kids. I worried that it was too adult an atmosphere to have them there but the waitress was lovely and listened to my 7 yo like he was the most interesting man in the room. The food was possibly the best food we’ve had in Bluffton. We said that they shouldn’t call themselves a seafood restaurant because generally the food was stand out delicious. The filet mignon exceptional. My son had the walleye and it was really, really good. We had the chocolate moose, and banana foster and they were both fantastic.

Great staff are super nice, friendly, and professional. Overall, very tasty meals. Chicken corn chowder was good but bit too much green pepper and not enough corn. House special clam luguini was great- loaded with tender seafood except shrimp and noodles were a tad overdone. Will return soon to sample more of the menu

Very nice food. Chose a selection of apps that I don’t get to experience often here in Canada. All were different presentations than I was used to but very well made and flavourful. The only really weak offering was the Caprese Salad. One slice of tomato, one slice of Mozzarella. Balance was filler. Sorry - that didn’t cut it for the price charged. More Caprese, less Salad! The wine special was wonderful. All in all, good food, fairly priced.
Some panel dividers and sound deadening would really help with the atmosphere. It’s just one loud open room. The two young bussers / dressers / cleaners were not very professional and appeared to be chatting and goofing on their phones. Not befitting a nicer restaurant like the May River Grill is working hard to be. Also a surcharge for using a credit/debit card was not expected in a higher end place. May be an American thing I am not used to.

Was looking forward to our dinner based on our experience several years ago. Was there a change in ownership?! “OK” at best. Were seated and then it seemed like we were forgotten. Finally, our order for some wine; they didn’t have our selection after a good 20 minute wait and then eventually found it. Our dinner selection? Meh…. Vegetables also an afterthought. Then, made a mistake with the wine on our bill. Then, brooming the restaurant floor before we left? Really? Must have changed ownership. Don’t bother.
