One Hot Mama's American Grill

My hubby and I ordered their Thanksgiving to-go special! We wanted a very special and intimate thanksgiving, just the two of us! We chose One Hot Mamas to help create that experience. We have both heard amazing things about their Thanksgiving meals. We were ecstatic! The meats: Ham, Brisket, and Turkey were delicious! The sides were delicious as well. You would think that’s the end of a good holiday story. However, what started as a lighthearted Hallmark holiday flick, unfortunately ended up as the “Nightmare on Vomit and Diarrhea Street”.
The symptoms initially started with my husband the next day. I felt so terrible for him, but at the same time I feared for myself, and what was to come. Like clockwork, 5 or 6 hours later, the food poisoning hit me like a ton a bricks!! One of the worst bouts of food poisoning I’ve ever had! I truly believe the cornbread stuffing (which was undeniably delicious, at the time) with undercooked sausage was the culprit. I called the resrtaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I spoke with one of the owners while I was in the most intense stomach pain. He addressed me by the wrong last name, and didn’t really offer anything for our ruined thanksgiving dinner. I’m truly disappointed by this entire experience. I honestly called because I was concerned if anyone else was affected as well. One of the owners told me no one else had reported similar issues, and tried to tell me when food poisoning starts to take effect. It was extremely odd, and just came off like he didn’t care. This wasn’t just a regular meal, this was an our Thanksgiving dinner. We were scared to eat for 2 days afterward!!!! :( our anniversary was two days after Thanksgiving, and the overall sickness really took a toll on our anniversary as well. I’m just extremely disappointed by this experience. I seldom leave reviews but felt like this needed to shared…..

The chocolate BBQ ribs are spectacular!

Watch out for Ana the server, she was quite rude and inattentive when we left a small (bigger than she deserved) tip she decided to change the tip after we left. We were quite lucky to catch this as I generally don’t scrutinize my CC statements. Management was fast to correct this when I called them later although they should’ve offered us more than the tip she stole. Food was decent otherwise, I had the chicken sandwich which was great and my girlfriend had the cheeseburger which was mildly overdone but still good. We were not able to get refills and when we asked for honey mustard we just got mustard.

Most amazing Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. And the sauces are incredible. Didn’t get a chance to try everything but if it’s anywhere as good as my quick lunch then it has to be incredible.

The best BBQ in the Bluffton/Hilton Head area. Great menu, hot BBQ sauce that’s actually hot. Great bar menu and drink selection. Awesome vibe for hanging out with friends. Founded by the legendary Miss Orchid. Highly recommended.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a fabulous meal at your Bluffton location! From the time we walked in last Monday, Labor Day, until we left, your staff took awesome care of us and ensured all was well with our food! Ashton served our food with the biggest smile and impeccable manners, as well as the waitress and other staff! The team followed up with us and the brisket remains the best in town, and the burger never disappoints! Thank you for a wonderful meal in a wonderful atmosphere, clean facilities, and staff who appeared to really love making people happy! Awwsome crew and food!

They really have some of the best brisket and pulled pork in the area but there's just a disconnect with the service mentality. It's not the kind of place where they're happy you're there, it's the kind of place where you're supposed to be happy that they will serve you food and you will pay for it. Has anyone ever been to a barbecue place that refuses to chop the brisket? I buy a pound of pork or a pound of brisket there almost every week, and every week I try and get my brisket chopped, and every week someone calls back to tell me they're very busy and they cannot chop the brisket. Why not? Too busy. Not customer service oriented....

Oh my, the Jalapeño honey cornbread melted in our mouth. We shared the Wings and Ribs. Super delicious. We are coming back.
