The River House is a luxurious and beautiful venue with Lowcountry charm - wonderful ambiance! We enjoyed four fabulous courses, beginning with the Hamachi, and the Yellowfin Tuna Duo, on to the Lobster Bisque and Wedge Salad, and on to the Rainbow Trout and the A5 Wagyu. We finished up with the C4 (essentially, Death by Chocolate). It was all excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Wagyu, which, while only 2 ounces, was a taste sensation with its Yakiniku sauce. We completed the evening with a nightcap in the Hush Speakeasy in the basement. We had a wonderful evening and will soon return!

Wow, this place is amazing. From the moment you walk in it is wow. Greeted warmly, beautiful and magnificent place. The service, the food, the drinks, are all amazing. Bryce, our waiter was also awesome and took great care of us. Only thing, be prepared for a weird drive. Finally, why is not this place 1-2 star Michelin star is beyond me. It should be.

The River House was an amazing experience. Located near the boat dock, the view is spectacular. The entire staff, including our server, greeted me by my last name. I have never experienced that kind of hospitality. Carina, our server, was fantastic throughout our dining experience! I highly recommend the River House for the true Southern dining experience!

First visit. Great food and experience. Nice window view of the May River. Wife and I enjoyed our anniversary date night. We both had steaks. Excellent cuts. We look forward to a return visit so we can spend time in the cellar.

The wait staff was exceptional and the food was extraordinary. The peach brioche is something I dream about between visits and the chateaubriand may be the best we've ever had. If you're a chocolate lover, the 4c is not to be missed.

My evening was memorable. Jordan at the hostess stand was so warm and friendly. My table by the fire was so nice- it is very thoughtful to seat a party of one at such a nice table. And Clyde, my wonderful server, made the evening special. He was professional and helpful with menu items. I had the burrata and trout- all delicious. The bread was truly the highlight. My dinner was very, very good in a beautiful setting.

We had a delightful experience from start to finish. The entire staff was friendly and professional. Chad, our server, was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious. We were celebrating my husbands birthday, and he was treated with a glass of champagne and a small dessert.

I really enjoyed the property prior to dinner. Do that!! Food was excellent. Broke in new server. Minor issues like refills & food knowledge. One major kitchen issue w cook temp, recovered as well as could. Again, food was excellent. Scallops & Filet. Loved the complimentary Brioche. Manager involved in recovery. Handled professionally and over the top of expectations. Definitely would go back!!

Can get a bit loud in the River House with the hard floors and high ceilings, makes for a noise level that rises with the guest count. Noel, was a wonderful waiter in that he was personable, attentive and was not dismissive in his attitude. That means, compared to many wait staff today in other restaurants...they just present as impatient with their dining guests, forgetting that their performance adds to or breaks a dining experience. Food was good. Had an overcooked double cut pork chop, and as much as I try not to disappoint the hard working kitchen staff...for this level of restaurant they needed to be aware that pork perfect temp is 145 degrees and not to let it go beyond(resting time included). Otherwise pork goes quickly to dry and tough. SO, I mentioned to Noel, just to let the kitchen know mine was over, and Noel insisted he get it redone. I would normally just argue that I would be fine...and would have accepted the kitchen just being informed. But Noel insisted he wanted to get it corrected. I had a moment of guilt...but when the pork chop came back properly cooked...it was wonderful and I truly got to enjoy that the kitchen could cook properly. :) Let me add that the dining room supervisor(think there were two that night), did come by to make sure our meal also was satisfactory. Attention to detail appreciated. This was our first time back at River House, since the remodel/Inn switch over to Montage...we used to love the old dining room w/ eating on the outer side w/ fireplace(glad it's still in use now inside on both sides). Even though locals for 12 years...and not back in 9(wow!)...it was pleasurable that we will be back. We do do Hush and Buffalo's...just never got back around to seeing the updating dining at River House. Was lovely and probably will be back again. Thank you!

Epic Valentines Day celebration with she who is my wife. Incredible service from John at the bar. Great dinner. Started with clab cakes. 100% crab. Delicate and delicious. Apple and burratta salad. Amazing flavors and textures. Very light. Elk chop for dinner. Better than beef! My wife had the Maine lobster tail. She went crazy for it. Cooked perfectly. Poached. Chocolate souffle for desert. Romantic and delicious. Amazing night! Thank you to the entire River House team. We will be back.

Wonderful experience all around. Clyde our server was A++. Food was on point. We were celebrating two special birthdays and it was the perfect evening at the River House. Shout out to Melissa, the pastry chef who made the birthday cake.

Wonderful experience at the River House! The food was incredibly delicious, and with the attentive, friendly service, made for an incredible experience! Ted was first rate, and thanks is owed to the sweet hostess, “Waxhaw” too!

Been there many times. Now they nickel and dime you for everything. Want to split an app? $5 per app. And we even ordered two entrees so we weren't going low need at the restaurant. Watch out for hidden fees
