Steak and shrimp are you kidding me?? Poor mennu this is a feak Mexican restaurant gringos place

This used to be my favorite place to eat from,
but not anymore. I decided to try something new from the menu which was a seafood soup that stated on the menu, crab fish and shrimp come in it. When I got my soup it had octopus, shrimp, fish, crab and mussels. I don't eat octopus or mussels...the waitress asked if I wanted another bowl without the mussel and octopus, and I told her yes and that if the menu had stated that came in it I would have never ordered it. She was very nice and apologized and went to get another soup prepared for me. 10 minutes later she came back with another soup while I was inspecting my soup to ensure no pieces of muscle or octopus were in the bowl, I found what appeared to be a gnat or it look liked a small mosquito or some type of flying insect. I called the waitress back over to let her know there is a bug in my food and she got the manager. They were both nice and asked if I wanted anything else off the menu, at that point I didn't want anything else not after finding a bug in my food and the fact my initial soup order had octopus and mussel, but did not state that on the menu. The manager removed the charge off my ticket and apologized as well as the waitress. The customer service wasn't bad, but my food experience was not great this time around for me trying something new since I usually order the same thing all the time when I go. I will not be eating here again.

We stopped here on our way home from a trip to the other side of the state and we were pleasantly surprised with what a great experience we had! We just wish we lived closer!

My mother and I recently decided to try San Jose Mexican Restaurant off Creech Rd., and the experience was extremely pleasant from start to finish.

First off, the architecture and layout of the building are really nice… very spacious, open, and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind and attentive, from the host seating us to our waitress.

Our waitress was truly on it. She stayed on top of everything… taking our order, keeping our drinks refilled, checking in without hovering, and maintaining a smile the entire time. Even while handling multiple tables, she didn’t miss a beat.

Now let’s talk about the food…
I ordered the Carne Asada with beans and rice, served with corn tortillas… and wow. The tortillas were incredibly soft, fresh, and flavorful. The entire meal honestly reminded me of living in Harlingen, Texas, down in the Rio Grande Valley, where authentic Mexican food is just different. That alone says a lot.

The meat was:
✔️ Perfectly seasoned
✔️ Cooked just right
✔️ Tender, not tough
✔️ Full of flavor

My mother ordered the fajitas, and she enjoyed her meal just as much. Everything came out hot, fresh, and quickly, without feeling rushed.

The salsa was excellent, the spice level was spot on, and to top it off, I had a blueberry margarita, which was refreshing and really good.

I haven’t been to the other San Jose locations yet, but this Blythewood location definitely left a great impression. I’ll absolutely be back.
