The last two times we called in breakfast orders the food was over cooked and sparse. We use to eat at the Dutch Plate frequently, taking company with us. The food was always great and the portions were plenty. The first time we ordered takeout we had a houseful of company and we had bragged about how good the food was. Needless to say we were embarrassed but chalked it up to such a big order. Today we ordered two scrapple and egg sandwiches…. the scrapple was burnt and in pieces. It use to have two full slices and cooked just right. I’ll never order from this place again. We’ve been customers for many years, way before it was sold several years ago so we are very disappointed.

Found the Grits Bowl very bland, didn’t like the taste of the breakfast sausage and the pepper gravy was bland.

Old, dark, dreary inside. Food was not good at all. Burnt sausage and bacon. Clumpy grits. Eggs were runny.... this place lost its luster long time ago. Really dont know how they stay open.Bathroom was not great and made even worse by the roaches that came visitng while using the restroom. I wont be back. Been in this area 30 yrs, worst I've ever seen it.Service was as good as it could be considering everything else.

From scratch hash browns, pepper gravy and biscuits. You had me at hello! Reasonably priced diner with well prepared food and super friendly staff.

A local favorite, I have only recently starting eating there… breakfast out with the fam when in town. Kinda dumpy, the restaurant itself could use a little sprucing up. Although initially charmed by their accommodating us back at Christmas… They were full and didn’t have a table big enough for our group of 8. They turned us away but then called after us to say they could seat us in their party room. Great! But no… it was a catchall space with miscellaneous coffee pot parts, warmers, desk chairs, stacked tables, etc. it could have been depressing but we laughed it off and had a good time despite the loooonnnng wait for service and for our food. Ate there just this past week and the food (French toast and bacon) was not good at all. My scrambled eggs were yummy, though. The service was okay. The server we have had several times was out. SHE is very attentive and personable. I want to like it… I want to support local but give me something to come back for.

The 20% upcharge at the register to reflect cost of food is well deserved. Was planning to leave extra even before I saw that because the menu prices were so low. Over easy eggs, country ham, grits and hot coffee. Really welcomed the “home cooked” meal instead of the fast food available closer to the interstate.
The first time we went it was Soo good .. this time we were served bacon with cold grease on it and the pancakes were burnt and two different sizes and the grits were scorched . When we told them about the grits the response was yea we burnt them this morning .. still charged us for them even thou they were scorched and was not fit to eat . I also so two cakes for sale for 25.00 dollars a piece and both of them had spots where there was no icing on them . They were lopsided and looked like something my grand son whom is three decorated .so disappointed with this place to eat . If this continues they won't be open long .

What a great breakfast place! Food was awesome, great selection, too much food to eat all of it. Low prices! Plenty of room to serve lots of people! Give it a try!

This is the best little family restaurant to eat at. Especially when you want to get away from the crowd. It is in Campobello. Where you have loads of things to choose from. Even breakfast all day. Nicest waitresses, etc . I love it.

Nice quite atmosphere, friendly staff. Parking was a little questionable. There are spaces in front of the restaurant. Adjacent to the restaurant is what appears to be overflow parking for the Dutch Plate due to a store sign there but there's no indication that Dutch plate customers can park there. We had breakfast there so my food comments are for breakfast only. The bacon and sausage were surprisingly bland. The gravy was very good. Just like mama used to make. Pancakes were excellent and not just the recipe (tasted like Krusteaz) but the appearance of the pancakes were perfect. Point deduction for using spread instead of butter. The syrup given to us wasn't sweet. It looked like pancake syrup, flowed like it but it was bland. The great waitress brought out a different looking bottle and it tasted fine. I was a bit dismayed at her cleaning off the stickiness with some wet rag before handing it to us.Not sure if i would have breakfast again here only because of the bland tasting bacon and sausage. BUT i can hardly wait to come back for lunch cause it looks darn good.

Great wait staff but the breakfast is not good. This place has gone down hill considerably over the past year. I don't plan on eating there again until good reviews start coming out.
Moved to SC 5 years ago and have been employed by a good local family so I moved to the foothills and today I finally got a perfect diner breakfast experience with all the mom and pop charm and our waitstaff was very busy but she never left us wanting and for a couple of tired Yankees it made us feel welcome and brought back memories when my mom was a young women working at a family restaurant and how community coming together for Saturday morning breakfast just has a feel you can’t imitateThanks again you have gotten yourselves some new regulars
