This is a better than average venue. The food is good and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and attentive.
We visited Clemson to help our daughter move into her new house with her fiancée. While there, we had a fabulous dinner at El Jimador Viejo. The food was flavorful and served in a timely manner after we placed our order. The restaurant was charming and unique. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, and the food.

In 2020 I had an ischemic stroke resulting in loss of appetite. I went from 260# to 87 in 6 months. I felt weak and miserable. One year ago, I started eating lunch here. I’ve gained 30 pounds and grateful for this restaurant for assisting me with this effort. The staff recognizes me, knows my past orders, rituals, and this is truly a comfort & blessing. Hats off.

3 floors, 2 stars, 1 patron that will never be back.- Ordered vegetarian enchiladas and found small chicken pieces in it.- Restaurant had a C rating recently (around March 2024). Got it back to an A rating by Cinco de Mayo ironically.- Seemingly understaffed: The server was handling so many tables that it was easily 15+ minutes between every single interaction; we were there for 1.5 to 2 hours. It was not even that busy.- Chips and salsa were subpar. Tostitos is hands down better.- Salsa was spilled all over my father in law; no discount or free meal.- Something questionable was on the floor next to our inside table (let’s hope it was food).- Staff door Loudly slams shut, Very distracting.- Bathroom out of paper towels.
