My wife wrote this. We went there on 6/22. We were the only customers when we got there at 3:30. It was the best service, food, and everything that we've had a Mexican Restaurant lately. We both ordered the Taco Salad with ground beef. I can't eat greasy food, it upsets my stomach, NOTHING was greasy. The chips (baked) and mild salsa were excellent. The Taco Salad, shell was baked instead of fried. It was just as crispy as if was fried. It was good sized that nether one of us was able to eat the whole thing. The offered us a to go box for it, but we didn't take it since we weren't going home at that time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is going to be our new Mexican Restaurant. The only complaint, was it was a little warm inside, but it was 96 outside so that's not really a big problem.

My roomate and I went here for the first time today and had a pretty bad experience. There was only 3 tables when we walked in and we got sat right away. After being sat no one came to take our orders. We waited for about 20 minutes before deciding to leave (it was basically empty) because they didn’t even ask for our drinks. The servers weren’t really doing anything but didn’t attend to us at all. We drove 5 minutes down the road to el jimador got sat right away and they actually gave us water!! We ate and got done in the time we sat at Monterey. I can’t speak on the food because we were never served. Probably won’t be going back.

The girl with long brown hair, named Haley, is my favorite server there! She always does a great job at making sure all my needs are met, even remembers that I prefer the mild salsa. She always makes a point to hold a lovely conversation and make sure I have the best experience! The food is also amazing and I haven’t had a bad experience yet. I could eat the chicken burritos and cheesy rice every day!
Haley is a great waitress who actually tries to connect with her customers and has amazing customer service! She stays on top of the table and stays attentive ensuring that all their needs are met
