My granddaughter and I stopped by in the one in Central SC. While I was watching the cook; he was picking out eggs out of my breakfast bowl. I told the waitress no eggs ; I heard her tell him. When I seen him picking out eggs in my bowl I told the waitress I'll pay for our drinks. We left. I'll never go back there again. He was the only cook with 1 waitress. The other employee was just walking around with a pad in hand. We sat there 30 minutes for that!!!! Never again. I wouldn't give them a one but u have to in order to leave a review.

I have frequented this Waffle House many times, and usually it is good. My experience tonight (3/10/24) left me quite angry. The worst thing this evening was the service. There was plenty of staff members, but most of them were teenagers that did little more than socialize or unneeded things. The restaurant was nearly full with most seating taken. There was only ONE staff member serving customers. His name was Billy, and he was trying his best to do his job. The previous review paints Billy in a bad light, and I don't know that person's experience. However, tonight painted a picture of Billy being the ONLY one of the staff trying to serve ALL customers in the restaurant. The one star service review isn't directed at Billy. He was great. It's directed at the absolute failing of the rest of the staff. I will give them one positive. They were all friendly if you spoke with them. However, there were two young girls working and they just hung out socializing around the dish pit. There was a younger guy there, too, hanging with the girls. He did come out and sweep a bit, despite tables needing to be cleaned. Not a single one of them took an order that I or my friend could tell. In fact, a customer came in for a pickup order and spoke with one of the young girls, the blonde one. The young girl told the customer to wait a moment for the sever (singular) to be with them, and continued working in the dish pit. I assume she meant Billy who was VERY clearly overworked and overwhelmed from dealing with the rest of the customers by himself. I was there a little over an hour. During that time, the girls did not leave the dish pit area much while tables were dirty. When I arrived, there were dirty dishes at my seating area that stayed there the entirety of my vist. The young man either socialized with the girls, or was in back of house. Once he came out and swept instead of helping customers. Again, they were friendly if you spoke to them, but your customers need to be served and ONE server for a packed out restaurant will not cut it, even if that server is amazing. Friendliness will not put the food I ordered on the table. Professionalism will. I will say the cooks were fine. They kept their heads down and did their job, and my food was good. Considering these people were young, maybe teens, I will say that maybe there is some law or regulation preventing them from interacting with customers. If so, this location needs more adults to help with customers during busy times. I cannot emphasize enough that there was only ONE server, Billy, to serve a packed out restaurant while the majority of the other staff severely slacked off. No one cleaned the dishes from my seating area. No one tried to help the only person serving customers. No one but Billy checked in on us, when he could, which wasn't often due to how busy he was. I left infuriated at how unfair the staff were treating him (openly showing exasperation at times), and how poorly it looks like this location in particular treats their customers and diligent workers. If tonight was any indicator, Billy deserves a raise. The others, however, need better supervision.

The only waffle House left that I am willing to go to is the one in Anderson. The waffle House brand has gone so far downhill. They have went up on their prices and down on their portions. It was okay when they had fair prices but now not even worth it. I don't know about the one in Anderson but the one in Easley and the one in Central never ever answers their phone. Then when you try to order online 90% of the time they say you can't order online at this time please call. Waffle House needs to get it together but I highly doubt that will ever happen. Blaming on poor management or unprofessional or unskilled employees. Either way in the past 2 years alone nothing has changed. I don't dine a waffle House anymore. It's not worth the headache and the food is not worth getting a headache. Sorry

We froze to death!!! Heard another customer ask the waitress about being able to turn the AC off or something and the waitress replied that they were not allowed to control the stat so they could do nothing about it. As she spoke this I literally saw her breath. I could see my husband's breath when he spoke as well IT WAS THAT COLD! The waitress rushed us through our order and said "y'all should have enough food with all that, and y'all can order more later if you need to. I have other customers breathing down my neck that I need to get to"! My husband ordered cheese on his eggs and instead his food came out with cheese on the hashbrowns. To this the waitress said "if you'll just hurry up and grab it off there (the cheese from the hashbrowns) and put it on your eggs and stir it it should be fine. Our cheese doesn't really mix well with the eggs anyway." My husband politely asked for his correct order of cheese with eggs to which she did bring them out and the cheese was mixed well into the eggs. It's just like she had an explanation or reasoning for every mistake or mishap instead of fixing what was wrong. It's been about 5 years since we've been to this waffle house and we agreed that it'll be fine if it's another 5 before we return.

Sat and watched so many food safety issues! Cooks handling raw meat and then putting up clean dishes wearing the SAME GLOVES! The manager was oblivious to any DEHEC regulations.

No matter how many times you call no one would pick up the phone to take it to go order and then when you get to the store they're all just standing around talking with no customers even there so there's no excuse for it. I love waffle House but when I'm on my lunch break I need to call ahead to order my food.. I even tried ordering online and it said this location doesn't do online orders. They have got my order wrong at least 4 to 5 times out of every 10. I'm so disappointed in waffle House it's my favorite place to eat but I'm on the verge of going elsewhere..

Their food is always good and their coffee is always hot. I've never ordered anything from here that wasn't wonderful.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs, booster seats, and a kids menu.
