We recently had an event at the Rooftop of the Hilton Garden Inn and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, drinks were strong, and the space is big enough to fit up to 80 ppl. Paige is so great to work with and was on top of it every step of the way; highly recommend using this venue if you have a smaller group and wanted to have amazing views of the marina.

I stayed at this hotel as it was close to the airport and it had a shuttle. The hotel itself was quite nice but…. I had booked the shuttle for 5 am. I went downstairs at 455am. The shuttle was there but there was no one around, either to drive nor at the front desk. I tried calling the front desk in case they were in the back room but no answer. I finally called an Uber and left at 525am. Very poor service

A typical Hilton Garden Inn with a few perks. The rooftop was VERY nice and I wish it was open all day. The pool was closed while I was there. The hotel isn’t well located, not really within walking distance of downtown and beholden to an awkward one way street. Parking is a bit tight.

We always come back to the Hilton Garden Inn for our visits to Charleston, unfortunately it's not a pleasure trip, but for surgeries at MUSC. It's a beautiful hotel right on the marina and the view is incredible, nice outdoor pool right next to the water, great breakfast, rooftop bar is a bonus, and they accept AAA. I had booked a waterfront balcony room, but this time I was given a 1st floor room without even a waterfront view. I was told they were all booked up, but there was one room with a water view I could take with an upgrade charge of $25, which I took. After thinking about the charge, I asked for a refund due to the fact I had already been charged for the upgraded room. I was told it would be taken care of, but the charge was still on my bill and no refund for the upgraded room I had also already paid, which I didn't see until I had left, and the receipt came through my email. Being told the hotel was all booked up my daughter had run down to the lobby and over heard someone checking in, they asked for an upgrade they were offered a balcony waterfront view, which they did not take, but I wasn't called to change rooms. Our refrigerator wasn't working, nor the outlet next to the bed. I called and was told maintenance would come and check on us, which they never did. I will go back because this was the first time we were unhappy, but we were very disappointed.

Book at your own risk! We had to commit to a reservation in order to lock in a price for the weekend of 7/23-24 and pre-pay to confirm a room. (NO changes or alterations permitted - if death, sickness, or travel delay, we would be charged - this was understood when we booked) The price charged did not live up to the online marketing and description of services. Roof-top-bar was never open or even available. (No Signage, No apology, No notice - poor management, lacking in customer relations) We had a fantastic view of the back parking lot - not what we were expecting for the price of the room. The advertising of the in-house restaurant was disappointing once we were on site. Positive vibes for the comfort and features of the room. Overall we would not stay there again.

Medical appointment. Close to MUSC. Room was average for the price. No shuttle service to Rutledge Tower part of MUSC. Booked through MUSC guest services. Canceled future reservation because of the lack of shuttle service.

I’m in the medical field and I travel every week. When you travel as much as I do the little things become very important. I can downstairs to eat breakfast as I normally do when I travel. I placed my order which was scrambled eggs with cheese and some bacon on the side. When my order comes there is no cheese in my eggs. I explained to the waitress that there isn’t any cheese in my eggs which she went back spoke with the chef about it. She comes back with a 2oz cup of cheddar cheese for me to put into my eggs. I said I asked for cheese in my eggs not on the side. She tells me she tried but the chef/cook that’s what he gave her to give to me. I realized then that they didn’t care about the guest just wanted to finish their shift and leave. This is something that could’ve been easily corrected but they chose not to correct what I asked for. I spoke with the GM and he told me he would speak with the person that’s head of that department and then offered me a few 100 points for my inconvenience. This place is close to my site that I visit frequently which is great but the customer service is below toilet water. If you stay here I recommended you eat somewhere else for breakfast.

Construction going on. So frustrating to go to a hotel and they don’t give you any sort of heads up that they will be doing construction during your stay. They still charge the full price and we had nothing but noise on the roof and on the walls of the hotel our entire stay. They did not offer any sort of discount rebate credit or anything. Very very disappointing

Our stay was fourth of July Weekend 3-6th. For what is supposed to be an upscale high end Hilton resort it was far from that. Outside pool area was disgusting!! Pool had foamy areas of peoples sunscreen, debris, tiny live crabs from the water and a broken net skimmer. For an added bonus you could enjoy guests smoking and eating in the pool. (There was no staff to monitor this or ask them to go to designated areas)!! The area where smoking was allowed had gross cushions with cigarette butts and matches in between them. Plus unsightly construction happening out there as well. We tried dining there, the waitress was the bartender, food runner and busser for about 40 people. No adult cocktail menu, and menus were dirty. The glassware was FILTHY, although she was doing her best she must have been a smoker and STUNK coming to our table and serving us (huge turn off) but felt bad for her because we would be stressed trying to do all of that!! She did her best, but unacceptable!! The room internet and TV's were dated so the service came in and out. All we kept doing was looking at the Marriot across the street and realizing we made a horrible choice for a very expensive hotel. SO disappointed book another hotel! We made it appoint to be anywhere but that hotel and only to sleep in for the next 2 nights!! Manager did give us some dining credit and couldn't do room credit due to booking with outside company. (I'd have found a way)!!

We had a waterfront standard king room as well as a non waterfront king suite room. Both rooms were great although the waterfront standard which was the only type available over the holiday weekend was smaller than we are use to getting at hotels. We would definitely stay here again as the staff was great and the hotel was excellent. We did have the room for free due to Hilton hotel points so I’m not sure how much the room rate would have been but I believe it was around $300+.

The so-called bartender Ashley was extremely rude and immature on her earphones and cell phone sitting down in a chair and abruptly asking us what we wanted to drink! If I were management I would fire her in a heartbeat because she was also real to many other customers as well!

In town for the PGA Championship and we were tired of staying in the busy part of the historic district. While the traffic on Lockwood Drive is a bit heavy, walking along the river and marina or into town was nice. And you won't be in overcrowded touristy streets. But it is a walk to get to town- if you enjoy the charms of Charleston, the longer walk is well worth it. Plus the views along the river were beautiful. During the Corona Virus time they did the typical things... but the breakfast was surprisingly nice and reasonably priced. Nothing fancy but the staff was friendly and food was good. Parking was incredibly easy for a hotel on the peninsula. Free and easy in/easy out. Hotel was very quiet- we didn't hear a peep. With the labor shortage problem there were small things like picking up trash in stair wells that I imagine would be a non issue when fully staffed, and the staff we talked to was wonderful- every hotel/restaurant is struggling with retaining help and it was overall very clean. They had a rooftop lounge/bar area that would be nice when it's open (I assume closed due to current times)- views from there would be lovely when they reopen it! If you want a property outside the hustle and bustle of the market district, this hotel is a great option. It would also be good if you wanted to go out to Kiawah, James Island or Folly Beach, location-wise, or the hospitals.
