We had a wonderful dinner for 4 with an incredible server, beautiful atmosphere and spectacular food. The swordfish special was out of this world. Very rarely do restaurants cook swordfish properly, but the chefs at 82, queen did a spectacular job.

Had dinner here while in Charleston recently - service was good, food was good. Tomato pie was better than I expected, we enjoyed it more than the shrimp and grits appetizer. Wife had the fried fish and grits and devoured it and talked about it for days afterwards. I tried the chicken bog out of childhood nostalgia reasons - crispy chicken skins were a nice touch, it was a bit light on the actual amount of chicken in my opinion so if you’re looking for a solid amount of protein I would choose a different dish. Would definitely return.

Shrimp and grits were OK+, crab benny came out sort of cold, bar staff while we waited were great.

Calamari appetizer gets a 9 out of 10. She crab soup, 5 out of 10. We had grouper which was very tasty and flounder/grits which was slightly above average. Service was good to start until the restaurant got a little busy then service was not attentive. Atmosphere is very pleasant and good for a date night or quiet dinner.

The brunch was amazing! Our reservation was for 10am so the restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived but was packed by the time we left. Our waitress Chelsea was so great! She answered all of our questions, and made sure my one year old son got his eggs right away(they came out in under 2 minutes!) we got the fish and grits and the crème brûlée French toast and both plates were amazing!! We also got the drink of the day and the krumkake butter pecan cream soda, both were delicious.

I made a reservation for a table of 5. There is nothing on the reservation or their website that tells you they require a 20% gratuity for parties of five or more. And the service was awful! I was appalled at how bad the service was. When you’re paying upwards of $50-$100 a person, you would expect that they would get your drink order right, or even at all. Then, they tell you that they automatically tack on 20% gratuity for parties of five, and don’t even bring the drink order for two of the five people, even after being asked three times. Do they really deserve that 20% gratuity? No, not in my opinion. I ordered iced tea, and I asked for a cup of water for my toddler daughter-three times. No water was delivered. I got one glass of tea, and had to ask three times for a water, and then had to ask three more times for a second glass of tea. Even the manager (Prince) on duty came to ask how things were…. I asked (yet again) for a water for my daughter. It never came. When I questioned him about it later after seeing the auto-tip added, his comment was, “well, I gave it to your server.” And the “20% gratuity is our policy”. He couldn’t bother to come and bring it to me? They also served every adult at the table Before they served my toddler, even though I asked specifically for her to be served first and ordered early for her. They put in her order wrong and brought out an entirely different meal. The took a long time to fix it. Meanwhile, all the adults had their food and my 2 yr old daughter was left hungry staring at the rest of us. I had to take her outside to calm her down because she was hungry! Normally, when this kind of mixup happens, a restaurant will comp an appetizer or a drink, Or even just apologize sincerely. None of this happened. Prince was exceedingly rude. Scotty, our server, was overworked, and couldn’t do everything he was being asked to do. It was clear Scotty was covering multiple tables, and he couldn’t handle all of it. That’s when a manager should help. Instead, Prince not only alienated the customer, But also put his employee in a bad position. Shame on Prince! He should not be in management. Certainly not in the hospitality business. I come from Orlando. I understand hospitality. This restaurant needs training, and needs to remove Prince as a manager.

Not sure what the hype is about, sadly. My party came from out of town and the food was just okay. Our champagne based cocktail we ordered was warm. The food was inconsistent — some dishes were very salty, others delicious, and others sparse on serving size. Our server was exceptionally kind and attentive… a shining light on an otherwise mediocre meal.

We relied on our server’s recommendations and tried the SheCrab soup, tomato pie, and jambalaya. Scotty didn’t steer us wrong and he was a fabulous server! The biscuits are delicious too! Highly recommend!

The main floor/courtyard was amazing and it was the main reason we chose this place. However, we were instead seated at a table in an upstairs area, all the way in the back, and in a corner. Very disappointing! We would have been willing to wait longer for a courtyard table.
There was also a very strong chemical smell up there - perhaps gas fumes from the kitchen.
The tomato pie appetizer came out so fast that it was even before drinks were brought to the table (so clearly made in advance). Next, it took a VERY long time for the two entrees to arrive.
The short ribs were ok. The jambalaya was extremely disappointing. Gimmicky presentation. Way too much rice. Almost no sausage. Bland. A few shrimp but not what I have seen at other places.
On top of the food being rather disappointing, it was way over priced for what it was.
Overall, this was very disappointing and I would neither recommend it nor plan to go back.
