I was driving by and saw the British flag in their store window and got excited for fish and chips. I walked in and it was quiz night. I ordered at the bar (the best thing about this place was the lady that served me, thank you) and asked for fish and chips (cod) my food was up pretty quickly. I asked for salt and the bartender said the sauces she had were up front. I walked up and stood next to the MC for the quiz night looking for a sauce. As I'm standing there he asks the question "what is the name of Beyonces #1 country song" . The uproar from the guests was so jarring I was ready to leave had it no been for the fact that I'd just ordered food. The complaints were mad "That's not country music" "is it our country or their country (music)" "Beyonce has no business doing what she did" and so and so forth. It was a sight to see how upset the people in there got about an artists music choice.I got back to the table and was disappointed with the food. The "chips" are actually just horseshoe French fries seasoned with something (not the best seasoning), the fish was hot and crunchy but almost completely tasteless. I ate what I was going to eat and then went up to pay for my food.As I was standing at the bar a gentleman asked me how the food was, I told him it was alright but being from Enfland it didn't remind me of the fish chips back home. He was then rude to me the rest of the conversation and I thought to myself "why ask the question if you didn't want to hear the answer". This gentleman was going out of his way to let me know not to come back. Really not a good experience (except for the bartender who was attentive to the guests needs) and I would warn future guests that this is not the place for fish and chips or even a good atmosphere. One star out of five for the whole place4 stars for the bartender

We had fish and onion rings. I had a full fish portion and wife had half portion. The onion ring were awesome and plentiful. The fish was flaky with a good crust. Tartar sauce was ok, nothing special. They had a fair selection of beer, but I expected a wider selection of local breweries (they did have a few, just not many.)The waitress rook a while to take our orders but was attentive after that.Price was reasonable for portions received.Overall, a place worth visiting if you are close but not worth an out of the way trip to eat there.
