Agaves Cantina West Ashley

We were eating at Agaves at least once a week, but have noticed a difference in food quality over the past 6 months or so. Specifically the cheese dip, the recipe was changed. The consistency is chunky… and it almost tastes like flour now. I’ve waited a while to leave this review thinking it was a fluke. But it’s been this way for months now. Miss the old cheese dip! If you brought back the old recipe, we’d visit more often again :)

I have eaten in and also had delivery from this restaurant over two dozen times. In the beginning, everything was great but the last 3 times I've had delivery it has been bad wuth wrong items or just subpar food. I received my order today and the two chimichangas were so tiny even put together they would barely make one. I'm afraid after 3 consecutive bad orders I won't be eating here again.

Had a beef quesadilla for lunch today and it was horrible. I couldn’t eat it. My husband tasted it and spit it out.

Order was completely wrong and instead of remaking it the cashier wanted to refund me. I had to ask for another person to have my order remade, wild.

Normally pleased with food. Recent to go order was disappointing. Salad with chimichanga barely had guacamole and the dessert was missing, sugar, cinnamon, honey and whipped cream. Basically got for tiny triangles of fried tortilla. DoorDash order so no recourse.

I stopped in for a late lunch at 3:00 p.m.
Nobody was at the station to seat me. The young lady seemed to be sitting at the booth on her phone. Once seated my food came quickly and my food was decent. The server took my plate away. Then after waiting 10 minutes for them to bring my ticket I went to the bartender who was also on her phone, to get my ticket. She instructed the guy that was standing right next to my table to go get my ticket. He went to the young lady that was at the front that was still on her phone. Finally she brought my ticket and I paid. These folks need to pay more attention to customers and less attention to their phones. I was one of only two people in the entire restaurant eating at this time. I do want to point out again though that my food was decent and came out quickly.

I came in on Friday the 11th 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the golden tacos with ground beef and it came with rice and beans.
My food came out extremely fast and I know why now because it was not hot. The rice was not fresh and the beans tasted funny.
These people do not care about your food or whether or not you’re happy with your order.
My waiter was pleasant and brought me what I ordered, but did not return to my table to ask me how my food was, Only to give me my check!
For me, I work hard for my money and it’s important that when I spend my money, I get good quality food! This was not good quality food and I will will not return or recommend this place.

The chips were stale and our food was not hot. This is the second time that our food was cold and we had to send back. Waitresses were very nice.

Overall a great local spot. My buddy’s family lives in the area, and so a group of us went to check it out.
Very quick service, besides a couple minor issues. Our server was very wishy washy. When he was here to help, we did a great job and was very quick, but when we didn’t see him, he was very much gone and we were unable to get a hold of him, which resulted in some longer wait times.
The food was good quality, but was a tad too expensive for the size.
The vegetarian quesadilla was fantastic though, and I highly recommend it!
Very good environment, well done to the decor.
Overall, would recommend to locals!

Great hardworking staff. We ate on Sunday afternoon and the after-church crowd didn't seem to slow them down at all.
