First time visiting, ate in the store. Sandwiches were great! Dude behind the counter has a LOT to learn about customer service , social skills, and all around not be so entirely off putting that it’s now tainted my thoughts on ever coming back. If you have grievances with in your establishment about your work environment , or co workers, don’t broadcast it for every customer there! Also, pick your head up and look at people when they enter your establishment… seriously it’s a small effort with a large impact!

Amazing sandwiches a good place to get a great lunch or dinner

Got two sandwiches, the Beaufort Philly and a Reuben. We were both disappointed in the bread. It wasn't crispy and was chewy. Not sure how it is supposed to be, but didn't like at all. Too bad as we would have loved them otherwise

Sandwich its self was good I got a turkey with no onion and it was Delicious. The service was subpar. no greeting when you walk in, no hello when you walk up to the register or anything. The register person was on their phone and just didn’t seem interested in being there.

The sandwich itself is good. The service is average at best, young kid not overly friendly! The downfall? One large turkey sandwich with only lettuce and mayonnaise and large sandwich with chips and a drink. $58!!!!!! That is absolutely insane. I could’ve gone out to dinner for that at a sit down restaurant!!! I guess the lesson is don’t order the large!!!

EDIT: When I got home I realized the sandwhich is HUGE and could feed multiple people. On the counter they had 2 size rolls so I thought one was normal and one was large - clearly I was wrong and the gentleman did not say, "Are you sure you want a large? These 2 buns are not small and large" So I assumed and paid LITERALLY for these 2 sandwiches but at least I feel better about that astonishing amount!

The pickle situation here is the worst of any sandwich shop or deli I have ever been to and I would consider myself a sandwich enthusiast. $0.50 for a pickle that must have been 1/16th of an entire pickle. It was but a mere toothpick of a pickle. Shouldn’t pickles come with sandwiches? Who doesn’t include one by default. But then to charge me for said pickle and just give me the wimpiest pickle of all time. Someone please talk some sense into the owner.

Maybe the best sandwich I've ever had. Homemade French loaf bread. I had the turkey and roast beef. Others had tuna salad and pastrami, all were excellent. Super place - great food, great value. Highly recommended, I'll be back.

I recently discovered this sandwich shop & I’ve eaten there 3 times since being stuck in Chas, SC. The sandwiches are amazing with their homemade bread. Friendly & fast service. Simple & clean environment.

We came to the West Ashley location, and the food was amazing, but the young guy at the register was an absolute jerk! He was very condescending and talked to us as if we were bothering him. Besides that and the extreme cost of everything, it was good. Why did the large salvation go to $25? I don't remember it being that expensive plus an extra 5 just to add bacon it's a little bit excessive... unfortunately won't be returning.

I generally do not leave reviews. However, I am compelled to do so for this place. I love Alvin Ord's! Excellent selection, great quality fillings, and superb taste. I have yet to try a sandwich that I have not liked. From the Philly to the cuban; the ham salvation (which is both the name and what it is...) to the BBQ. It has all been top quality and filling.

I will say that a lot of sandwich shops are a dime a dozen. If you want a good quality sandwich, if you want something that is filling, if you want something better than just a regular sandwich shop, or chain a regular chain store, try this place. You really can't go wrong.

The question is, what is going to my sandwich of choice this week?

I just cannot recommend this place sadly. Got a Reuben for $26 that had like one little slice of pastrami on it. Super disappointing. went back last week hoping it was just a one off experience, but same thing. This time it was $15 for the medium sandwich and it literally had one slice of pastrami across half of the bread only. the bread was good but come on guys, put some pastrami on it or call it what it actually is: a really expensive sauerkraut sandwich.
