My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary having a “staycation” in downtown Charleston. Our plan was to put our name in at 167 but the wait was just too long. We stopped at a few bars and looked up local restaurants and landed on Anson, which had a reservation available for 2. We’d never heard of the restaurant but the reviews spoke for themselves. We had such an amazing time. The atmosphere was great. We put down that it was our anniversary on the reservation form and the team at Anson went above and beyond to celebrate - an amazing upstairs table, and a bit of champagne, berries, and whipped cream to wrap up the meal. Peter, our waiter, could’ve sold us on just about anything on the menu. We went with the she crab soup, shrimp de johnes, blackened snapper, and the filet with bone marrow butter. Every bite was incredible. We’ve found our new favorite place in a city full of “the bests.” Thank you Anson!

We had a lovely experience at Anson last night for dinner. We had a reservation so when we arrived we were taken right away to our table and Jackson greeted us quickly at the table. He made some excellent recommendations and took great care of us! The whole team was working together with such precision it was really cool to experience. They took great care of even the smallest details to ensure guests needs were met.The food: we shared She Crab Soup, Shrimp de Johnge, oysters, tuna crudo, Brussels, and the ravioli (love a handmade pasta!). For dessert we had a piece of pecan pie that was decadent and right. Served with a salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, it was perfect. My only critique was the lack of a curate zero proof drink menu outside of soda or tea. I would have gladly purchased a beverage had there been one. N/A wine, zero proof spirits, something thoughtful.Anson, Jackson and the rest of the team, Thank you! Y’all are professionals and it was super wonderful to be able to experience a meal at your establishment.

This place is expensive but you get what you pay for. All of their food is insanely good (especially the fried green tomatoes) and we sat in a room upstairs which was nice as it made the atmosphere better, downstairs is a bit loud but if you don’t mind volume it’s fine.

This was one of our best dining experiences ever. Everything we ate was delicious! The she crab soup was thick and had a slight sweetness that was nice. The beet salad was very well balanced and refreshing. My husband even liked it, and he doesn't like beets. They used dark leaves for the Ceasar salad love + anchovies on top, which we loved. The scallops were some of the most succulent I've ever had. He really enjoyed his filet mignon. And the lobster mac n cheese was creamy dreamy.Drinks & dessert were tasty. Our serverJackson was very kind, attentive, & knowledgeable of all the dishes. We will be back next time we're in Charleston!

Great atmosphere and location. Food was quite good and a nice selection. All seafood was fresh and made to order not mass produced. I prefer an entree with a vegetable versus all a la carte but just my preference. Service was great.

This was our second time coming to Anson and both times did not disappoint! The food, service, and ambience is everything you want when you come to a restaurant. I wish every restaurant did things just as good as they do. The dessert was even amazing- we had the duck fat apple Streusel and pecan pie… SO YUMMY!!
