First off the extremely courteous service, I felt very well welcomed. The atmosphere was great. Nice patio for outside dining and good view of outside downtown. Food wait time was extremely fast and tasted great! I will definitely come back. For Mexican that’s good and fast (extremely low wait time), clean and good customer service… I highly recommend. If tequila is your drink of choice, they have ALL the good brands. Azul won’t disappoint.

Me and my girlfriend dined here and while the food was very good the margarita was good as well the place does have a loud/ noisy vibe to it however, we received bare minimum service from our waiter. He did not refill our drinks he was not very attentive to us; we had to get help from other servers to get through our meal. I don't want to bring race into the play however we are a black couple in a majority-white restaurant and could tell that we were not being serviced the same as the people around us. We decided not to tip and when it was time to pay then our server had life to him again. He stood next to me the entire time while I pulled my card out to pay and even though we weren't ready to leave he constantly tried to get the receipt from us. Once he saw that he did not get a tip he yelled out loud at my girlfriend in front of the restaurant stating that he did not get a tip, then went to another table he was servicing and told the couple(who were white) about how we didn't tip him and how he deserved a tip. We did get a refund from the manager who was very understanding, but will not be back here again.

Everything was fine until the moment we received the bill, it doesn't seem fair to pay 13 dollars for a beer with lemon and salt, a supposed manager (Arnold) arrives, his answers and arguments were baseless, instead of calming the situation he did it. What he did was make it worse, since his attitude was arrogant and arrogant. At the time of leaving, the general manager came by and knew how to handle this very uncomfortable moment excellently. We thank him for his commitment to his good work by not letting a disappointed tourist go.

Lovely lights and atmosphere. Parked at the Visitor's Center. Loved bringing our dogs to the outdoor porch area. Lady at the host stand was awkward and aloof at best. To also be fair... don't think many of the employees speak alot of English or acted as if did not when trying to interact -they stick to talking amongst themselves and just taking the order, checking in with us occasionally. Bar is limited to mainly the general Mexican style drinks. I ordered an Ole Fashion and it was fabulous. We understood mostly margarita and beer is served. The burritos are so good!Parking: Charleston garage or visitors center paid parking only

Me and my friend sat at the bar and the female bartender rudely asked us what we wanted to drink. we asked for waters and margs and ordered our food. she proceeds to stand on the other side of bar and talk to other customers. when our food came out, my order was wrong and she rolled her eyes and tries to tell me that it was correct when it wasnt. i guess she didnt think we spoke spanish and proceeded to call us “gorda” to her other customers. extremely rude and un pleasant. disgusting behavior from a disgusting person ??

i was really looking forward to this meal and the whole experience unfortunately it was a let down . The restaurant was clean ,the service was good. Chips were delivered to the table quickly upon being seated. i had already checked the menu at home and knew i wanted to order the Azul Sampler and did. We ordered drinks and the sampler and everything proceeded nicely . THE drinks came in a timely fashion followed shortly by the sampler. Everything was ready for a nice meal. the problem was that everything on the sampler tasted the same. My way of thinking is that there should be different tastes so in fact you could get a feel and taste for what is going to follow with the other food we ordered. i know it may be a tall order but the sampler should set the stage for the other food that is going to follow. What happened was completely opposite. the sampler looked good but i felt it lacked the different tastes necessary to get us ready for the food to come. i don't have the answer but if you can present the sampler with different tastes so you can get ready for the other food that follows. For expediency you probably have these plates set up. i think in the future you need to treat the sampler as an important part of the meal. If you can do that i believe you will sell more samplers and the reviews overall will be better. The Sampler is a great idea and done correctly will enhance the whole dining experience . We enjoyed the whole experience and probably will come back but with a better experience with the Sampler i believe you will increase business and have guests talking about that delicious appetizer. It sucks that the young male server was sooooooooooo awful because the food and drinks were good! I would eat here again and just wouldn't expect good service.

This could have Easily been 5 stars except for Ivan's inattentive service!! The place was hopping for later dinner on a Wednesday and my party of 4 were hungry from a day of airports and travel. The restaurant is large and easily holds 100 guests or more. Tables, booths, high top tables, seats at the bar and covered outdoor seating available (weather permitting). Colorful decor, flags from ceiling and wrought iron fixtures. Meals are served on beautiful glazed ceramic plates with traditional Mexican colors, symbols and they hold the heat so your food is hot and you're advised not to touch the plate. Our drinks were very good, their salsa is addictive with light but very crispy corn chips. It took about 10 minutes before our server acknowledged us and came back in an appropriate time for drink orders, but took longer to be delivered. When drinks did arrive Ivan said, "I'll be right back" and then seemed to vanish. Our chips and salsa had also vanished because we were hungry and we were hoping for refills. I am a very patient person and give people serving the public the benefit of the doubt, especially when it's obvious that other waitstaff is hustling back and forth to their respective tables. Our server no where to be seen in dining area. Then he's spotted walking over to help sing Happy Birthday on opposite side of room, walking into area I suppose is kitchen. Gone again. Then I see him walking with empty tray perched on shoulder? Not delivering food or drinks; also not clearing tables. Just walking around. I Rarely call out to waitstaff, but it was noisy/ busy, and as he passed our table: no eye contact, no "I'm sorry I know you've been waiting, can I bring you anything on my way back?" Nothing. Basically ignored us. We drank our drinks and needed to pay, or I would've left. He comes back after an eternity and finally takes food order, which arrived in about 10 minutes- delivered by other waitstaff (probably because he knew we were pissed) I should've asked for the manager to address on the spot but we were tired and just wanted to walk back to hotel. I tip well as a norm, but not this night. But the food, drinks, ambience were all fantastic: clean, lively and noisy (but not obnoxious) because of the crowd, which is a good sign. If there's a crowd/ line, it's got to be good. Staff was hustling except for Ivan. You should still come try the food and I hope you have a 5 star experience!

We ordered the Molcajete and the Fajita dishes. Authentic in restaurant presentation. Both were very tasty! I wish the pablano was more charred and cooked, with the seeds removed but still was good. I was looking for some shrimp but none too be had, although I think you can ask for grilled shrimp to be added. The chorizo was the surprise at the bottom of the lava stone bowl, DIG IN AND STIR THAT BABY UP!! All of the goodness was in the bottom. The Fajita was well cooked and piled high. This was a meal for 4 as we found out and we munched on later. Big place good seating Mexican atmosphere vibe, attentive wait staff and about a 15 minute wait for very hot awesome food. Our new favorite Mexican cuisine establishment.

So I want to start off saying I love this place and they have great food. This is actually my first review with anything negative to say about Azul. The problem they seem to have is consistency. I ordered tacos today and they were such empty tortillas I had to share a pic. That said I’ll keep ordering the food, just wish they would tighten up and care about the food they send out consistently. Today I got empty tortillas with a tiny sprinkle of meat. However, my carnitas taco was just two massive pieces of fat and nothing else. Just been disappointed more often lately.
