Beautifully appointed space, very good food. Unfortunately I arrived 13 minutes past my reservation time (parking garage next door malfunctioning, I was trapped between 2 vehicles thus unable to park). My brunch companion arrived at 1:59 pm for the 2 pm reservation. My niece informed the server of the issues immediately.
Server was quite miffed, informed me the kitchen was closed, I would be served if I ordered “in the next 2 minutes”. She then proceeded to attempt to take my food away within 15 minutes of receiving it. I still had not finished when she took it away.
I recommend not taking the last reservation time available as apparently guests need to leave in less than an hour. We left at 2:53 pm. I do not think this was unreasonable on our part for a 2 pm reservation time.

Emphasis on timing of reservation and stay a bit off putting. Inside narrow and dominated by long bar where diners sat. No music inside. Food and service more than made up for these points.

We have dined here for brunch and dinner several times and have never been disappointed. It is the closest thing in Charleston to dining in Antibes or anywhere along the Côte d’Azur. An eclectic French menu, a nice wine list and some terrific dessert choices make this an easy choice for brunch, lunch or dinner. Selections are plentiful and there are dishes that can satisfy most dietary needs. We think they have the best French toast in town and their dinner appetizers are shareable and inventive. They have interesting takes on French classics like Croque Monsieur and Croque Madam along with traditional dishes like Beef Burgundy and Duck Confit. We enjoyed making meals from a selection of appetizers and you can design your own charcuterie platters. Decor is upscale French modern with indoor and outdoor dining. Lighting is good, you can actually read the menu and there are nice selections of beers and special cocktails. Indoors can get a bit loud when occupancy is high and outdoor dining is uncovered so you might be shutout of a reservation if raining. The restaurant is well located within easy walking to everything in the market area of the historic district. Parking is conveniently close by and there is an adjoining event space converted from the original wine bar. Prices are reasonable for downtown charleston and the staff is efficient and considerate. Overall this is an excellent addition to dining in Charleston and we give it five Google stars or four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale (FIG is still the only five clam rated fine dining restaurant in Charleston but four clams is an extremely high rating).

Great service, atmosphere and tasty food! Highly recommend! Staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. Manager or owner kept us up to date on when he was able to get us a table and held the door open for us on our way out.

One of absolutely best restaurants in Charleston for anyone who likes European classy delicious freshly made food. Did I mention it was not crazy expensive either. Have been coming to Charleston regularly for the past 25 years. Now this restaurant is my favorite. Reminds me of Paris 😊

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟– A Luxurious Culinary Escape in Charleston

I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at AZUR today, and it was truly a standout experience. From the moment I stepped in, the luxurious atmosphere set the tone—elegant décor, refined ambiance, and attentive service made for a relaxing and upscale dining setting.

The Smoked Salmon Tartine was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor—perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients. The Crepe Seafood was rich and savory, with a delicate texture that highlighted the freshness of the seafood. I finished with their Tiramisu, which was light, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent.

Every dish was crafted with care and sophistication. AZUR is an excellent choice for a refined lunch or a special occasion. Highly recommend!

Baguette w/ whipped goat cheese and honey was AMAZING! Drinks were mixed well and creative. They did these basics right, so of course everything else we got was great as well. We’ll be coming back every time we’re in Charleston.

This was one of our favorite dinners in Charleston. We could not stop talking about the ham & cheese croquettes.

I never leave reviews but we were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of food than we had to share!
We had dinner and ordered foie-gras which came on the 3 round pieces of crouton but also on the side there were grapes, dried figs, walnuts and some jam which on its own had also very complex flavor and was delicious. We also ordered lamb wraps, beef burgundy and beef baked in crusted layered dough. Everything was five stars! Beef burgundy reminded us the flavor of what we had in Michelin star restaurant in France. My parents and I are usually hard to impress with food in America, thats why we were delighted to find this gem in Charleston. Definitely will be back.

we came for drinks and apps. Before ordering, we asked our waitress if the bread was unlimited with the charcuterie board and she said “yes, the bread is endless”. When we got our bill, we had been charged an extra $12 for the bread we ordered. We asked the waitress about the charge and she then said “yeah, the bread is unlimited but you have to pay for each one.” (Isn’t that the case with anything at all restaurant?) she didn’t offer to rectify the misunderstanding. The place was super cute and the food was good but this was an odd experience and we felt slightly ripped off
