We devoured the most epic dinner at Azur Charleston last night to celebrate our anniversary! If you haven't been, get ready for a taste bud explosion! We started with fancy cocktails that made us feel like high rollers, then feasted on an Azur burger with beef braised in burgundy on a croissant bun - it was like a party in our mouths! And don't even get me started on the lamb wrap with Boston lettuce and crème fraiche, it was like a flavor bomb went off! The service was top-notch, especially when we sat at the bar and got entertained by the bartender's fancy mixology tricks. What a night to remember in downtown Charleston!

Have been wanting to go here for a year, finally made it. Benjamin & team have created a unique experience with a menu of novel bites, charcuterie, and some killer dishes. The beef bourguignon burger on a croissant was a highlight that managed to be upstaged by the lamb wrap - we haven’t had better lamb in Greece!We sat at the bar and were entertained by the energy & charisma of the bartenders. Speaking of which, I must mention my wife’s cocktail. The LAVANDOU - a concoction ofEgg White, Lemon, Lavender Syrup, Créme de Violette, Domaine de Canton, and Empress 1908 Gin - is the finest cocktail I’ve ever had, and I’ve been having cocktails since momma rubbed whiskey on my gums.And with several pastry chefs in the house, you know the desserts are worth a visit on their own. Can’t wait to bring visiting friends and family back to AZUR. The sense of hospitality absolutely shines.

Nothing particularly New Southern, except perhaps the gracious welcome and attentive service, about this terrific blend of a super sparkle bar and snug dining area. Azur would shine in any number of vibrant cities. Dining format is tapas plus. We had five small dishes, only escargot off the mark because over salted, and the best strawberry cheese cake I can recall. Tagliatelle a wonder. Creative bar offerings. Wine list a delight - good whites, sparking, and a bright Sangiovese from Puglia. Don’t dress down.

The drinks are superb, as is the wine selection. All the food is very good to excellent, the small plates are made to share so you can get a great variety of tastes in one sitting. And you have to try the Pavlova for dessert, it is amazing but you'll want to share as it is quite large.

Really nice place, the serve tapas style cheese/meat. The duck moose (more a pate than a moose..) was really good. They add on the 2.5% credit card charge as a fee which is unusual, in this day everything is card, that’s like saying we will charge you extra for a normal payment method. Bonus for those who pay cash but this is an upmarket restaurant, it’s already “expensive”. That should be factored into business costs. Outside of that nice place, cocktails are really good, good place to hang out at.
Solid place, just as good as if not better than several other more popular Charleston resturants, it also seems a bit easier to get reservations for now so give it a try!
