There's two coffee shops.I like bake house when we're in the french quarter and blum coffee when we're down on meeting street on the other side of downtown.
They both have pastries, and they're both delightful. Blum coffee is way bigger even though bake house is extremely spacious and I go there when I need to get some work done too. Love the friendly baristas of both places and you can beat these two coffee shops.I love them both.

Could be more cozy and tastier. Drinks were way too sweet even though I asked for half sweet and th service was ok. Not the friendliest barista and bakery items were all sold out. Expected more for downtown Charleston.

Came in for a REAL cup of coffee. I got a wonderful double espresso. I would have preferred a real coffee cup, and not paper, but the coffee was wonderful and service with a smile.

Food was good but not the best. Thing that bummed me out was I bought a chicken bake and they didn’t have hot sauce or ketchup. Pretty disappointed

Coffee tastes great but don’t expect friendliness. Wasn’t given what I asked for and when I asked for some ice was given a cup slammed on the counter with a counter-rude comment. Woman with the glasses is extremely unfriendly.

Blueberry scones not so good, overcooked, not many blueberries
Women behind counter needs a personality

This is a functional little spot, and while the atmosphere suggests it's way past due for an update, the coffee itself was the saving grace.

I had the Cortado, and it was not too bad—it was prepared well and hit the spot. I appreciated the focus on the drink quality.

Given the overall look of the place, it won't be my first choice to return, and I'm not sure if I would choose to eat here. However, if you are looking for a quick and decent cup of coffee and don't mind the dated environment, it will certainly get the job done.

The frozen mint lemonades were really good. The staff behind the counter was super nice. Next time I will try the iced cinnamon bun latte.
