I have never had anything less than a 5 star experience at Bar George. The menu, delicious. The cocktails, creative. The vibes, high. Spencer is awesome, he’s very attentive and a great conversationalist. Extra bonus, he never lets empty plates or drinks sit for a while on the bar which I appreciate! Knows the menu very well and can point you in the direction of what you’re looking for. Not to mention the creative, funky decor that definitely adds to the high vibes. Definitely check them out if you haven’t yet!

Cannot rave about the food enough. “These are the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had” - my mom. The good food doesn’t stop at deviled eggs, from hot dawgs to flank steak and everything in between can’t rave about this place enough. Finney, our waitress, was absolutely amazing - give this girl a raise!! She was so personable, friendly and made the experience feel homey but sophisticated. 💥💯

Had the pleasure of eating at Bar George for their Italian Dinner pop-up known locally as Lupara. Everything was locally sourced and farm to table. This restaurant is normally delicious serving creative dishes that satisfy the palate. Last night’s dinner was nothing short of delectable. We had the beet panzanella salad to start (picture accidentally omitted) and that was easily my second favorite dish of the night. The bread was perfectly crusted and soft while the vinaigrette cut the sweetness of the beets. This was a great summer salad. The penultimate in my opinion was the spaghetti al pesto. The pesto was deliciously fresh and flavorful without being too oily. The crunch of the pole beans and the addition of potatoes made this a very filling dish. The bucatini was fantastic and cooked al dente. I wish I ordered 7 of these dishes to have for dinner the rest of the week. The gnocchi was a surprise, not shaped like the traditional rolled pasta I am accustomed to, it resembled the look of a cooked scallop. The texture was light and fluffy while the flavor was rich and creamy. The lasagna was meat free and layered well enough that it was stable and not sloppy as so many restaurant’s poor attempts. It was clearly made with fresh tomato sauce and flavor forward in this featured dish. The tagliatelle had a creamy sauce and was topped with crab. This was a fairly plain dish packed with natural but not overbearing crab flavor. The last entree was the chicken Marsala which took a public favorite and reimagined it as a whole roaster soaked in a thick Marsala gravy. There were plenty of fresh oyster mushrooms without having them in every bite. Last but certainly not least was the Crostada. A stuffed little pastry that should be sinful to sell. The pastry part of this dessert tastes like a mix of homemade shortcake and a cookie. With a layer of strawberry-peach filling and light, mildly sweet cream topping, it was the perfect dessert finale to a truly delicious evening. The cocktails were also Italian inspired which I of course forgot to photograph. The staff was super friendly and the food came out staggered and fresh and warm with each “course”. Though we spent $50-100 a person, it was because we tried everything on the menu You can easily eat here for much less and still have plenty of food, we just like ordering and sharing multiple dishes to be able to try the dishes that interest us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We go almost every weekend. Have never had something that wasn’t delicious. We usually go for a couple of the salads and crudo - it’s always fresh and there are usually fun twists on the dishes. Treat it like a tapas place and get multiple plates. Hot dogs are some of the best I’ve ever had.

We used Bar George for our rehearsal dinner, and they truly knocked it out of the park. This is our favorite bar in Charleston, and we knew we had to bring our family and friends from out of town here for such a special night. Working with Megan to curate a custom cocktail list was such a pleasure. They printed the menus with our last name and event details, adding a personal touch that made the night feel even more special.
To welcome our guests, Bar George set up a welcoming bar with beer or wine upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. Megan also graciously set up the decor we brought, adding even more personal details and amplifying the ambiance with candles.
Bar George set up a mic and amp for speeches and carefully curated the appetizers, main courses, and desserts. We trusted their expertise every step of the way, knowing the vibe of the place and how amazing everything would turn out. The service was incredible, and the food was as delicious as always.
Now, our family and friends are raving about their experience at Bar George. This was truly the best way to kickstart our wedding weekend. The place has become even more special to us, and it holds an even bigger place in our hearts than before. The team there is unmatched, we love them!

We love this place and try to visit at least once a week for Happy Hour. They have great Margaritas and my wife loves the Guava Pain Killer. The Greek Hot dog has to be one of the best in Charleston.
The staff knows your name and we love seeing Topper, Andrew, Austin & Mackenzie!

Very rude and condescending waitress and server/bus boy. They were very offended that I didn't like their cocktail. I was also overcharged. Won't be returning or recommending to anyone.

Hmmm I really enjoyed bar George but a few things probably keeps it from being one I’ll frequent. First they only had one variety of oyster. And it was ok. But then they didn’t have horseradish for it. I get that everyone wants to be fancy with mignonette but have a lil on the side for us common folks. LOL
Now all that said I also had a small peach Caesar salad that was delicious and the drinks have the best curly straw around!
Pathetic. 2 cold donuts for $16. Add a dozen oysters and you’re at $70. Waiter was horrid, didn’t introduce herself, the place, dropped off our desert before dinner , and presented the check before even getting us waters. A complete JOKE of an establishment. Stay away.
