Fresh, clean ingredients and everything was so tasty! We all loved it. We popped in to put our name on the wait list, then shopped around until our turn. It was a great spot to enjoy healthy food.

I had Saturday brunch with my parents here while visiting Charleston. It was a lovely spot that felt very hip and had a cool vintage aesthetic to it. The food was amazing and tasted very fresh! We ordered the lamb burger, surfer delight, cauliflower wings, and a cocktail. I loved the cauliflower wings and the lamb burger came with sweet potato fries which were my favorite! The service was great!! Our waiter was so friendly and helpful with choosing dishes. We were also sat very quickly despite it being a Saturday and a busy crowd. The ambiance is so cute and I loved the vibe. It's a bright space with nice windows, a bar, and outdoor seating. Great spot that I'm glad we came across while visiting!!

Neat, trendy place with a lot of healthy options. I highly recommend any of the fresh juices, salmon bowl, or smash burger. You can swap out the sweet potato fries with a healthy salad.

Basic the best way to describe Basic Kitchen. We had a reservation for 12 of us, understandable that they had to seat us at 2 separate tables but put us on opposite sides of the restaurant. We wanted an additional 25 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. Server was friendly. Food came fast. Drinks were good. The food was good but very average. Tastes like food I can easily make at home. If you're looking for a healthier option in Charleston to eat this is a great option.

This is a really cool restaurant and the food is amazing. We came here after the bridge run so you know we were starving! I had the burger with sweet potato fries and beet margarita! I really enjoyed the food! I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was excellent and this place looked like it used to be a former house. There is an unused fireplace and the decorations were really cool.

We were struggling to find restaurants with good vegetarian options, but this one was great. They really know how to cook veggies with love.

One of my favorite places to eat in Charleston. Food is always great and service is too. I am plant-based and they have lots of options.

We were visiting Charleston, and our family has a number of food allergies - milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, plus I'm gluten-free. We are accustomed to limited options, being disappointed, and risking allergic reactions when eating out. So, we were excited to try Basic Kitchen based on the reviews. The location is great. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and the ambience is nice. Loved the energy and the vibes from the staff and the restaurant decor. There were lots of options for us to eat and I felt very safe (for myself and my kids). Thai butternut & red lentil soup was yummy. My hubs got the yellow coconut curry with tofu and it was really good. The sweet potato fries with the vegan ranch were amazing (really the ranch...you have to try it).I ordered the Naughty Burger without cheese and on gluten-free bread and was underwhelmed. The beef was great, but they left off the onions and gave me a dollop of dijonnaise on sandwich bread (sliced bread). That's it. Sandwich bread, a dollop of dijonnaise, pickles, and 2 burger patties. It was dry and basic. I would have loved a gluten-free bun, the option of vegan cheese, and more condiments. My son enjoyed his Naughty Burger without modifications. It did come with a bun.Overall, I was pleased that no one had an allergic reaction, everyone had safe options, and the food was good. I just wasn't blown away and was disappointed with my Naughty Burger. I wish I didn't have to sacrifice flavor for safe food.If you don't have dietary restrictions, you'll likely love the food. It's fresh, quality food with great service!

Dietary restrictions: I have severe food allergies and the staff accommodated them very well. There are many vegan and allergy friendly options offered.

Booked a dinner here for a bachelorette party and they were so accommodating of the group size and dietary restrictions (gluten free). The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious especially the corn ribs!

There’s few dining experiences worse than having your family feel unwelcome at a restaurant. Unfortunately that was the uncomfortable experience from the whole staff at Basic Kitchen from start to finish.

Meh - kinda all over the place.Food is really overpriced ... $30 for a steak bowl and there's barely 2oz of steak in there (rest is filler stuff such as sweet potato fries etc). $20 for a wine glass with tip. the burger at $17 was ok.Service is spotty - for the amount they charge nobody came to even fill water in the hour we were there. We booked a table thru resy and the front hostess said they ran out of tables so had to sit at the bar.ambience is decent so 3 stars for that.

From our 8 year old, “their food is really good.” He had the grilled salmon with quinoa for lunch and we loved it so much we went back for dinner. For dinner he had cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Again he was very happy. His mom and dad, who are vegetarians, were also equally satisfied. Highly recommend. And highly suggest the beet margarita.
