My husband & I decided to have date night here a few nights ago & it was such a wonderful dining experience! The food was so delicious - full of yummy spices & flavors. The cocktails were also some of the best we've had in Charleston!! The bartender didn't disappoint with several sweet designs in the cocktails, too! :) Make sure you ask for Kristin when booking a reservation! She made our dining experience even more fantastic!

Had high expectations for this place after trying Kwei Fei months back and I was not impressed. Our server Krissy was very nice and knowledgeable so this is nothing negative towards her. But the food all just lacked flavor. The deconstructed crab Rangoon, was exactly what it was. The most disappointing dish was the rice cake thing. I eat this type of rice cake in my culture and I just felt like the flavors of the sauce were there but with that dense of a rice cake it doesn't hold sauce well. It tasted very plain and underwhelming. The noodle dish she suggested, it was alright for me. Curry should have a very robust and potent flavor, this one didn't have that and lacked salt. Surprisingly enough my friend who doesn't eat pork, ordered the S&S subbed pork or beef and overall it had good textured, but yes it is a dish I've had 100x. What we wanted to try was Mongolian sub chicken, but for some reason we couldn't sub that one which I didn't get . I did like my Tiny Tini and the VB&T bc they were unique. But overall I don't think they executed the food well with all the missing flavors I expected. May give it another go bc I didn't pick out these dishes but we'll see.

SIMPLY THE BEST. From the service to the food, everything was a 10 outta 10. Sydni took excellent care of us, and every single dish from the duck to the dumplings was a taste sensation. They were also extremely accommodating for my party of six did everything they could to make sure we were able to have a great experience.Parking: Lots of spots in the paid lot across the street.Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating of my niece and she LOVED the food.

The fusion of spices and texture of the food was such a great tasting experience. My older daughter enjoys getting dolled up a couple evenings, while on vacation, but we also want good food! This was a great combination and the server, Elick, made the evening that much more enjoyable. He was very personable and made you feel as if you were dining in his home. My husband made an amazing choice with this place.

I’m just sad I didn’t take any photos but i will be back soon so I’ll be sure to feed the phone first :-PSuch a great first time at Beautiful South. The dishes and drinks were unique and delicious. My favorite type of dining experience is when you can order a few dishes and share and dining that way couldn’t be easier here. We had the green beans, noodles and General Tso’s chicken, all of which were on point. Thank you so much, Beautiful South. Can’t wait to join you again!

Hostess was not friendly. Looked very tired or mad. I love authentic Chinese Food and was not impressed. We had 4 main dishes and appetizer and drinks. The green beans were good. The fried rice was good. The Mongolian beef so salty unable to eat. Sweet and sour pork was OK nothing special. For $ 200.00 it could have been much better. Our waiter was very nice. Looked understaffed to me. We sat at bar 30 minutes. Bartender was very nice lady. It could be so much better. Crab Rangoon was great Dumplings were just ok.

We came for dinner last night and was so disappointed. We came here before and loved the food, it was more elevated Chinese food and the chef at that time knew what he/she was doingLast night was a let down. Seems they have a new chef who was just average at bestThe fried rice was not fried with hot wok, no fragrant to itThe general chicken was soggy with sauce and the eggplant was undercookMust say the food now is no better than a Chinese take out dive at half the priceNot coming back anytime soon

New favorite downtown-adjacent spot, which is helpfully right down the road from my OTHER newest favorite spot! I went with friends on Friday to celebrate a joint birthday/going away/preshow dinner. Both Kristin and MK helped us out (with MK in training) and made us feel like we were their only table. I started with the Paradise Lost cocktail ($14). Since they serve family style, we shared the scallion oil noodle and green bean small plates, a side of rice, and dove into the General Tso's chicken and Mongolian tofu. I *love* that they offer the majority of their dishes in a vegan option. We were on a time crunch since our show started at 7pm downtown and Kristin and MK were awesome, getting us out the door just in time to make the show. It was a great experience and I'm excited to get back there.

If you're reading this, you're living life wrong. Get off your phone. Do something adventurous. Eat funky foods, drink foreign spirits. Wear your most preposterous outfit. Charleston needs to learn to have more fun. Thank you Tina and Dave!

Loved the upscale feeling and dining experience I was able to get for my lunch! I was able to get inside to unplug for a nice lunch! I ordered the Crab Rangoon. (Pro tip: order extra chips and any left over, dip it in the General Tso's sauce!!)It was yummy and I also ordered the General Tso Chicken with an order of white rice. I had PLENTY left over for a late night snack. The parking is super convenient as its connected to a nice parking garage. If you are looking for an upscale experience this is the place you should check out! (Shout out to the OG Kwei Fei!!)@TheeHolyCityConcierge

Oh my gosh SO good. We had six people sharing family style and it was top notch. The general tso chicken and the crab Rangoon were definitely my favorite. The sweet and sour pork also hit the spot. Our server was fantastic, so accommodating and friendly. Kwei Fei does it again
