After hearing such wonderful things about Beech, my family and I had such an upsetting experience there during our vacation to Charleston.

My elderly father was anxious about making his 12 pm tour nearby and asked the woman working if the items we ordered would take long. She gave him a smug look (not attempting to be subtle in the slightest) and a snarky answer. Admittedly, I’m protective of my father and asked if something was wrong with the question, explaining that we had a tour to make and were just trying to make sure we were on time. She responded with an even more smug smile and said, “well, yeah. I can’t control the toaster.”

She then proceeded to bring out our food and call out the amount of time it took her to prepare each dish. So unnecessarily petty. When I asked her for her name, she ignored me and pretended I wasn’t there. I have worked in the service industry, so I understand how challenging it can be to field customer questions and man the counter. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Even so, I’ve never treated anyone or been treated with such unprofessionalism and blatant disdain. So much for “southern hospitality.” I really hope Beech reminds this employee (working 11/14 at 11:30 am) that they aren’t hosting unwelcomed guests in their home. This is their job.

Very good Açaí bowls! I had the Beech Bowl and my wife had the Nutella bowl! Only thing I could see that they could improve upon is the Acai was frozen hard. Maybe they premake the base and then put in the freezer? Anyways after it melted some and softened up it was great!!!

I frequently order online through the Beech app and it is always pretty good; today I went in to retrieve my coffee and breakfast item and had a less than pleasant interaction with the male worker behind the counter. The extent of my interactions is typically giving my name and then immediately being handed my drink. Today, the female employee handed me my breakfast item when i gave her my name and then started to slide a coffee inside of a drink carrier towards me. She turned the carrier so i could access the drink, and i began to pull the drink out (as she had slid it towards me, and i did not need a carrier). Then, the male employee, who before this had not said a word, cuts in with “that’s not yours” very rudely. I was given the drink by the other employee, so i started to set it back down, confused, when he says again very rudely “that’s not yours” and looks me up and down. The most rude interaction I have ever had to date at Beech, and I will not be coming back. It takes only a few seconds to ruin an impression of a business. Way too many good coffee shops in the area to be subjected to rude service.

I’m dreaming of drinking another americano! I also had a toasted bagel with peach jam. The jam had a hint of ginger, possibly? I’m not a fan of ginger so I wouldn’t get the jam again; but that’s just a personal preference. I’m guessing many would love it! There are so many healthy options at this cafe.

My family often visits this place because it's my daughter’s favorite spot for açaí bowls. We ordered two Nutella bowls, but when my child couldn’t find the Nutella in one, we asked the employee to check the order. Instead of helping kindly, the employee dug through our food and literally yelled, “It’s right here!” If you’re looking for a place where your concerns about orders are met with such a response, or you like playing hide and seek with the foods namesake ingredient, this might be the spot for you.

If you order a matcha latte, make sure to get it with light ice. The entire drink was ice to the top of the cup.

Got an iced vanilla latte and it’s AMAZING! Bagels and sandwiches were 10/10 also. Great selection of toasts, açaí bowls, and sandwiches, could do with more of a bakery selection.

It's a great coffee spot I frequent with coworkers. They were out of our go-to coffee today, and the kind barista recommended the frozen coffee, which was great! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a light bite for lunch or an afternoon pick-me-up!

Stopped in on my way into work for coffee. It was very weak she added a shot of expresso and it was still garbage. This is NOT the place to stop for a good cup of coffee. Even the lady ahead of me fixing her coffee agreed and yeah it is very weak. $3.90 for watered does coffee. How can u have a Cafe shop n don't know how to fix coffee. Really. Just taking up space.
