There are legitimately not enough good words to say about how great this place is... Every meal here is like a holiday with the family or a warm blanket. The menu rotates, so there's always a reason to come back again. Seriously, if you're reading this, it's time to head to Bertha's 💯🔥
Great service and parking was a challenge, but the food was a bit under whelming. The cabbage was great, but the chicken wings where a bit bland. This won't stop me from trying other menu items, as I do want to try it again. People please don't take tis review to heart, this was just one visit.
My mamma grew up in Charleston and she cooked things like fried chicken, butter beans, red rice, okra gumbo, rice and gravy, hoppin’ john, collards and many other soul food style dishes. I loved my mamma’s fried chicken. Nobody could touch it in my opinion. Well, Bertha’s is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had outside my mamma’s kitchen. Maybe even the best I’ve had.
