Really decent barbeque place if you're looking for a simple bite to eat without having to hit the major touristy spots. The portion sizes are great, and the price isn't terrible. I'm not going to judge too critically on the barbeque, because I chose to have brisket, and I wasn't in Texas. However, they offer an array of different trays, desserts and the flavors are really solid. The onion ring was also an unique thing that I haven't seen elsewhere (it was massive) and I do recommend that as part of any purchase you make.

This place has fallen off. Go to swig and swine across the street.

Not impressed!! Several of my co-workers rave about this place however I was not impressed!! Went on New Years Day for lunch. Ribs were dry but somewhat flavorful, but brisket was dry, hard to cut and tasteless. Considering lunch for two was about 90 bucks would’ve expected better. Some people compare Bessinger’s to Lewis, not even close. Perhaps they were having a bad day, however just not impressed. Staff was VERY friendly!!

Great local place for good BBQ. This is a mustard based sauce they out on the bbq, but you can get ribs, chicken, etc with no sauce. My favorite is the onion rings. They are huge and freshly made. Been eating here for 50 years.

First time there. After reading reviews we were excited to try. Got there sign read Bessingers, but the only way in was a sign that read Sandwich shop. We were so confused had to ask a customer if both businesses were the same. She was even confused and appeared unsure. Once inside we were eager to try the ribs and brisket and was disappointed they were out and was about to get my meal However the young lady at cash register, just proceeded to go to next customer and ignored me. So we left.

Used to have the best burger in town, now the tomato has more flavor than the patty. Used to tell everyone about this place now I have to turn them to baby Huey’s.. don’t get me started on the price

My son and brother were Visiting from Va, wanted South Carolina BBQ, so after researching he decided on Bessingers. Big Big mistake. It was abt 300 pm, place was completely empty except for 3 workers. The young lady that took our order was very nice, but other than that, our bisit was a waste of time and money. Pork BBQ was passable, baked and green beans were worst probably ever tried to eat, and corn bread was sweeter than any piece if cake we ever tasted. If you value yout time and money, go some other place or eat at home!
