Another choice for Breakfast in Area. The decor is unique and area was clean and well lit. Good selection. Coffee was terrible, both times, we were there. Breakfast Burrito was OK. Granola, tree hugger bowl, was good, but lacked Granola! Haley C, was our server, not over the top attentive, but acceptable. I did like the Pecan muffin also. Great place just to hang out, too bad coffee wasn't better tasting. We walked from our Rental. Close to other stores. Parking was good. Area outside for pets also. Popular for locals.
Place is super adorable, great vibes. The server was really nice as well. The food on the other hand was not good unfortunately. The waffles are the only thing that was ok. Home fries looked burned but were slightly hard inside, not fully cooked. The French toast and pancakes tasted microwaved, and the sausage was very salty.
Absolutely phenomenal experience. I’ve lived on folly for over a year now and finally made it here. They have the best coffee on the island, oh and smoothies, there’s also an espresso bar, but if none of that is for you, get the Bloody Mary and call it a day. Ask for Connecticut when you get to the host stand. They will seat you with Andrea (who’s from Connecticut) and it’s all down hill from there. Be chill, be cool, tip high, stay blessed.“Mic drop”….”Crowd goes wild”
Excellent food, friendly service. Fun cocktails and espresso drinks. Worth the wait if there is one. Huevos Rancheros was delicious.
First time coming here. Came for lunch with coworkers. Wait time wasn't bad. Not personally my favorite but would still suggest to give it a try! Someone got the chicken and waffles and it smelled really great. The waitresses seemed nice and talkative, service was friendly. Seemed to get a lot of business as well so the food has to be good for people to keep coming back.
You can never go wrong with breakfast at Black Magic Cafe! I had the seasonal lavender lemonade mimosa and it was perfect! My husband wanted a bloody mary but they don't serve hard liquor until 10 am. Not a big deal, just something to note. We both got the standard egg breakfast. Everything came out quick and hot! We always look forward to stopping here when we are in town.
Happy accident! That’s what Black Magic Cafe was for me. After my wife and I had attempted to go to a cafe down the street, only to find out it was closed in arrival, my wife Google searched and found Black Magic Cafe and it did not disappoint! Much better vibe! The food was amazeballs! The grits!! Highly recommend ?? - definitely will make this a stop the next time we’re in town from Ohio. Don’t forget to shop small and buy some of their cool merch! We picked up a sweet coffee mug to add to our collection back home!
We were headed for another restaurant on our way to Bowens Island for the Eco tour. This place is SO COOL ? Aesthetically fantastic and the food was great too! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!!
Adorable spot, great vibes. But poor execution. Stopped to get a couple of coffees and croissant. First iced coffee was so sweet it tasted like sugar water. Second beverage was an iced chair. Even after stirring and shaking it up, there were huge clumps of chai mix so that every time I took a sip, I got a glob of mix. Not drinkable. Chocolate croissant was tasty for what it was, but more of a piece of bread with chocolate sauce—-No flaky layers. Good concept, shoddy execution. Won’t be back sadly.
Just had a GREAT experience at Black Magic Cafe this morning. All thanks to our awesome server Chelsea. She had a positive attitude even though she was super busy juggling many tables. She was prompt and very kind. She made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back and requesting her again as our server!

Great atmosphere and vibe. Had an iced caramel latte which was great and the southern fried chicken biscuit. The pimento cheese was cold? Not sure if that's the whole point. It was good but would have preferred it to be warm. Will be back if I visit Folly Beach again.
Really delicious ice coffees and some really amusing wall signs. I had an ice coffee with pistachio in it and it was surprisingly good. Give it a go! Food was great and waitress was great too. Will be back soon!
Food was just okay. Not bad but not great. My wife liked her eggs and bacon but the grits were dry. I had the aloha chicken sandwich. Chicken was also dry. Service was a bit slow. Normally I wouldn’t mention that as businesses have a hard time with staffing these days so I understand. But when the other tables around us are getting much faster service and checked on two or three times between when we were checked on, that shows the waitress was slow. Maybe it was an off day for her. Don’t know. We are not opposed to going back but it isn’t at the top of our list of places to eat when we come to town.
We found this place online on our journey to Folly Beach. It was small, cozy, and inviting. There are signs galore covering the walls. The menu is traditional American fare for breakfast and lunch. We ordered eggs, chicken & waffles, grits, bacon, and potatoes. The fries were not top notch, total miss. The turkey club mediocre turkey on it but the croissant was excellent. It’s called the Angel Oak which commemorates the historical tree still standing locally in John’s Island. The traditional breakfast items were good but the grits were stone ground and everyone was not a fan. The staff is super nice. Low traffics midweek in the mornings. They have limited hours and no electronics bigger than a cell phone are allowed on the premises. You came to eat and fellowship so that’s all they want you to do. They have nice souvenirs available too.
The pictures don't do this place justice. It is WAY BETTER in real life! The ambiance is amazing and the signs encompassing the walls keep your eyes entertained the entire time! The Lattes and Chai Teas put the best coffee shops to shame! And each breakfast plate we had was delivered with picturesque platting. Every bite was savory and delicious. And the coffee mugs! omg, the coffee mugs (or latte mug in my case) is HUGE!This is seriously one of the best breakfast places I've eaten at during this Spring Break trip.
