At the end of the day it's still "fast food" - however, on the plus side, you can get any sandwich without the bread/bun!! I was tickled to find that out. AND, you can ask for grilled rather than fried! Double plus for that. The chicken is very tender and not dry, so whatever their process is, it works. The staff are very pleasant and not appearing as if they'd rather be elsewhere which plagues most other day food places. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
Vegetarian options: They do have a stuffed portabella sandwich.

Boxcar has been located on the always busy Savannah Highway for several years now. The parking situation is far from ideal, however the food there more than makes up for that small bump. The menu not very extensive, being that the overwhelming majority is fried chicken dishes. BUT these are no ordinary chickens. They have been enhanced by whatever culinary magic chef has conjured in the kitchen. Hats off to you chef. You have managed to turn something so ordinary into something rather extraordinary.

We were here for two days and ate at Boxcar Betty’s both days ?. So good. Best smash burgers, excellent chicken boxcar sandwich, fries were amazing and the salad with green tomatoes ??. It looks small but when you go in it’s cute. Staff was great also
