This was our absolute FAVORITE dinner of our Charleston trip! The reason why? The wonderful service! Our server was the absolute best! The food was so incredible!!! (her suggestions were spot on!) the wine was perfection! (her suggestion!) and the desserts! Phenomenal! (her suggestions!) FIVE Stars - All the way! Honestly we wanted to go back the next night but we had to head home! We will definitely return as soon as we can get back to Charleston!
Have dined here several times and am always happy with service and food is always prepared and presented perfectly. Beautiful old bank makes it even better. Would recommend for a great experience.
From the moment that we walked into the restaurant, our experience was superb. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and helpful. We started at the bar with a great glass of wine and a first class espresso martini. The duck entrée was absolutely the best I ever had. I am looking forward to returning soon.
Great service and delicious food! Peach croissant was huge and delightful. Going back for the steak tartare for sure!!
Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent service. One of my wife's and my favorite places.
Frozen fries, average steak, expensive and definitely not worth it. A very disappointing experience.
We had never been to the Brasserie before. The waitress had an edge to her from the outset. We ordered an escargot appetizer and were underwhelmed. For our main course, we selected a 12 ounce sirloin to share, which was not up to the quality we expected for $63.00. The sirloin was pre-sliced and we were glad that we asked for the bearnaise sauce on the side as it was unappealing. We also ordered a side of broccoli that was mushy and the sauce was too citrusy and yucky. The steak came with frites that we enjoyed. Finally, we requested a Diet Coke, which came out of a soda gun and the syrup and seltzer were not properly proportioned. All-in-all, we were underwhelmed and would not return as there are many high-quality restaurants in Charleston with which to spend money and time.
This is a beautiful, elegant space, and the food wasn't terrible. I mean, it was all passable, and the cocktail I ordered was really good. But most things were a little bit off. First, the central row of tables has a row of chairs facing the bench seats. The bench is padded, but the chairs have part of the backs cut out and are pretty uncomfortable, plus they are right by a heavy traffic area. One person walking by (a guest, not staff, I'm pretty sure) bumped into my chair and seemed annoyed I was in their way. And most of the dishes were either over or under-seasoned. The steak tartare was kind of sweet with nothing to balance the sweetness, and the potato chips with it tasted a bit burned (kudos that they make their own, but they had burned a little, I think). The escargot were under-seasoned, as were the sweetbreads. The crab-stuffed flounder was overcooked and too salty. I also couldn't discern much crab in it. That dish was very promising with a nice blend of flavors. It was just a shame that it was overcooked and over-seasoned. Not a terrible dining experience, and maybe they were just having an off night, because the ideas for everything seemed good. But for the price I was a bit disappointed.
Classic French brasserie! Nice setting in a beautiful old bank building with great food, extensive wine list, and friendly staff. We came early and ate light before the theatre but will be going back for more. A new favorite.
Great little French Bistro in a fabulous old building that use to be a bank. Fun casual evening.

Stellar food. We were celebrating a birthday and there was a card signed by staff, and a framed note on the table acknowledging the birthday - great unexpected touches that really made the feeling next-level. Highly recommend the Frenched oysters and the duck. My friend loved her scallops as well as the broccoli side she added. The Vault bar downstairs has an incredible ambiance, but the bartenders seem to be... I'm not quite sure how to describe it... but they 'looked past us' for some time until we became more assertive about trying to order drinks, and we saw it happen with others as well.
Brasserie La Banquet is a terrific French restaurant. Wife and I had Lyonnaise and Beet salads with steak frites (filet). The food and service were amazing. The restaurant is open kitchen concept, with nice romantic decor. A short walk from the city center, but neighborhoods are charming and safe, even at night. I highly recommend.
I had a great time, the food and drinks were phenomenal, and the bartender Avery took great care of me and was really fun to chat with!
This is a great place to come and spend your special occasion! Great food! Order the Escargot! They make you feel so special. Our server was fantastic. A fave French food place!
Hailey our server was the best that we had on our 4 day trip in Charleston. She made us feel very special on our anniversary trip and was very efficient. The cocktails that we ordered needed tweaking and could have been better but EVERYTHING else was spot on. We will definitely return on our next trip to Charleston.
