Not gluten friendly as advertised. I arrived at 10a and they were out of GF biscuits. When I asked if they’d have some later, the cashier said maybe he’d make two more GF biscuits in twenty minutes. There was no attitude of openness or customer service…despite there being no line behind me whatsoever. The cashier had a very dismissive attitude regarding GF. As someone with celiac, I was super excited to try Hot Little Biscuit & buy a bunch to take home to my family up north. Instead, I left buying nothing.
Three stars so I don’t hurt the business unnecessarily. It’s a one star in my mind.
It was good but not worth the hype. $15.5 hot chicken biscuit is for way too much money .. handmade doesn’t mean extortion.

Great Biscuits. While the sandwiches are small they are mighty.
The goat cheese was smooth and the strawberry jelly tasted like pure strawberry without added flavor or too much aspic. The basil and pimento cheese also really shown through in the BLT.
The cinnamon mini was my favorite but the shortbread was a close second. Great with honey syrup from the drink bar.
Unfortunately the they were short staffed during the lunch rush and the single cook was a bit slow, so the cashier had to run all damage control alone. They have tap water but it took a few times to be understood that we were not buying bottled water, but wanted a cup of water.
There is a small amount of bar style seating nearby provided by the market location.
Dietary restrictions: Not diet friendly because these are true southern biscuits filled with southern goodies

This is a small food stall at the Charleston City Market. We were looking for a place with gluten-free breakfast options, and we're so glad we stopped! The gluten-free biscuits are delicious. My non gf husband enjoyed his sausage, egg & pimento cheese as well. There is very little outdoor seating, so be prepared for the possibility of taking an order to go or eating standing up.

The good: Went to Callie’s at the Market for breakfast. We got several options including: sausage, pimento, cheese, biscuit, blueberry, cinnamon, cheddar cheese.
The bad: All were good but we waited at the counter for someone to come back for several minutes to order.

I genuinely am not sure how this place has such a high rating. I was so disappointed (the guy that took our order was not friendly at all & he didn’t want to hand me the biscuits so I had to go behind the counter to get them) also the biscuits fall apart / are very dry and turn into cement in your mouth.
:(
I wanted this place to be good so bad.

Update 1/11/2025, an administrator Allison, responded and stated that she would refund my purchase or gift card me a week ago if I responded to the email she sent to me. I did a week ago and heard nothing back from her. Guess that was all talk. Remember, I’m a local and I will never watch your TV show again. You need to reach out to me as you stated in your response to me. I’m a ‘(local)’ and I have enjoyed watching this businesses TV show series over the years on SC-PBS-TV. I always wanted to try out this business at one of their local areas. Today, I was not impressed with the food or the service. My order was the BLT, and my partners was the Fried Chicken Buscuit. After I got our order and had to ask for my sales receipt which was handed to me without this person saying anything to me, I took our order over to the seating area outside the glass doors to eat. When I opened mine, it was a disaster…the biscuit was crumbled and not a whole biscuit as you can view from the picture I took. My partner said that hers was tasty but cold, as was mine too. I had to pick up my crumbled up biscuit with my fingers since I couldn’t hold it. I ended up throwing it away as you can see in the picture. I also wasn’t impressed by the customer service. The lady who waited on us was polite but once my order was in she left and went back to the area where the food was being prepared and I ended up finishing my debit card transaction. When the transaction was complete, I wanted a receipt, so I hit receipt and it didn’t come out on my end but behind the counter because I had to request it from the older gentleman who was standing there doing something. He tore it off and didn’t even once look at me when I asked for it and handed it to me. Still no one said thank you. When my order was ready, my name was called and a younger gentleman handed it to me and he did say thank you. After watching your television show for years and seeing how you strive on customer service and the quality of your food, I wasn’t impressed. I’m a local, and I didn’t feel like going back up to your counter and explain all this. Hopefully you’ll make it right for all customers. Say what you want in response…but whoever does reply, you weren’t there when this all occurred.
Parking: Very difficult in this area. Be prepared to walk.

Perfectly tucked in the market to devour a scrumptious biscuit (including gluten free ones!) with a series of accoutrements to dress it up. Exactly what I needed!

The location inside the market is the best thing about this place. Ordered regular breakfast biscuits as well as some of the small specialty biscuits. None were fantastic. The small ones were hard and barely edible with slabs and splotches of flavored spreads. Shaved ham wasn't expected and didn't appeal to me. The French press coffee was good though.
