I had the pleasure of dining here last year, so it was again on my hit list for a trip with my husband. And it did not disappoint! The food is just delish. I enjoyed the paté, gnocchi and the Low Country Bourride. Service was friendly, professional and on point. Highly recommend! Be sure to know your date and be online 28 days before at exactly 12noon east coast time to get your reservation.

We couldn't get a reservation so we sat at the community table. The food was delicious and is worth all the great reviews. We enjoyed the gnocchi, the tomato tarte tatin, and two dishes that were specials. the seafood stew was my favorite.

Any list of the most outstanding restaurants in Charleston, South Carolina, has to include FIG or it lacks credibility. Located at 232 Meeting Street, at Hassell, FIG opened in 2003 under the expert culinary skills of co-owners Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow and executive chef Jason Stanhope. Open from 5 to 10:30 Tuesday through Saturday, FIG is noted for its innovative and creative menu. As a pair of 80-year-old retirees who subscribe to the more fish/less meat diet, we found FIG most appealing. We started with ricotta gnocchi with bolognese sauce and lame tartare with pecan, aged cheddar cheese, horseradish and seedy rye crisps. Quite a change of pace from shrimp cocktail and French onion soup. For the main course, my wife chose roasted gag grouper with fingerling potatoes, peperonata and skillet okra. I passed up grouper for yellowtail snapper with sweetcorn pudding, olive and heirloom tomatoes, vierge and Yukon Gold potato puree. Grouper. I've often wondered how such an ugly fish can taste so good. For dessert, we shared portions of chocolate pudding with caramel and coffee creme and vanilla bean panna cotta with poached peach. This is the fun of dining out, to experience dishes that you don't prepare at home. And in the case of FIG, dishes that you don't find at other restaurants.

Absolutely delicious food! Cozy ambiance. Highly recommend the following dishes : appetizers - pate, burnt eggplant and cottage cheese, gnocchi. Entrees - the bourride. The gnocchi is as good as your server will tell you. The broth of the bourride is fantastic.

By luck, my family had the privilege to grab a last minute table at FIG during our recent hurricane evacuation trip to Charleston. Our waiter, Ryan, was amazing with our two little ones who began the evening hangry. Patience and understanding is always very much appreciated when traveling with little ones and Ryan provided just that and then some. We began our dinner with a number of starters, the tomato tarte tatin, the ricotta gnocchi and the burnt eggplant as we could not decide on just one. Let me just say FIG is the hands down winner for the Best Starter in Charleston Award. The tomato tarte tatin and the ricotta gnocchi are must try’s if you are fortunate enough to have them on the menu during your visit. These two dishes will have my tastebud’s dreaming of our next visit to FIG. We enjoyed the flounder and triggerfish entrees and our boys loved the shrimp and potato mash created for them. We finished this world class dinner by sharing three desserts, the frozen Greek yogurt with watermelon, the blackberry tart and the chocolate pudding. Do yourself a favor and book yourself a reservation as soon as you begin planning your trip to Charleston as they book up 4 weeks in advance. FIG is definitely on our must return to list of Charleston restaurants.
